Jan 24, 2016 I think Fewtch or Thugger sill have plenty in store for the rest of this decade. But yeah, from 2010-now its been all about Drake, then Kendrick, J Cole, Rocky, etc.
Jan 24, 2016 Probably yes. The only one that could still outsell Drake at this point is Eminem. But Kanye and Jay are still superstars @immy. Even if I like Cole way more than Drake, IM not sure if he can get to that level but I might be wrong
Jan 24, 2016 Agree with you, The most famous rapper today is Drake, he was since couple of years and will stay more. It's his era. I didn't like 50 cent or Lil Wayne neither... but this is fact. LOL I just realized Drizzy means Drake. All the time I imagined Drizzy was another rapper similar to YoungThug.
Jan 24, 2016 Yes Drake is the only rap superstar of this generation. Cole and Kendrick are stars imo but they'll get there. The more interesting question to me is always who is better though.
Jan 24, 2016 Decade? 2010 - 2020? Probably Generation? I don't consider a part of the 2000s rappers (50 Cent, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West etc). He's a part of the 2010's (J. Cole, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar etc). He's undoubtedly ahead of them. Of course we are talking about appeal. Drake makes music that appeals to everyone so of course he'd be miles ahead of them. In terms of actual ability? I believe he is a better songwriter and a better flower (he does get help though but who doesn't?) than the rest. Story teller? He doesn't tell stories in the traditional Biggie (Got a Story To Tell), Eminem (basically his first 3 albums) or Kendrick (GKMC) type of way. Kendrick rapped about his life in a story telling way whereas Drake raps about his life in like a idk how to describe it kinda way lol. Like he's more of a brag rapper but not try hard brag.. just like.. "I happened to do this amazing s--- blah blah" instead of "You s--- so much I am so hard blah blah." In terms of the way he uses words? I don't pree rap that kind of way so idk. Maybe Kendrick wins at that but you asked if he's the last rap superstar. Well yea. Kendrick, Cole and Sean are not rap superstars. Superstars do pop numbers on their tours. Drake atm is like 2009 Kanye pop status.
Jan 24, 2016 He's the only superstar of the decade so far imo. The next closest would be Nicki Minaj. After that there's nobody else close (f--- Kendrick).
Jan 25, 2016 He's definitely the biggest rapper in the mainstream right now. But I will say the highest selling Hip Hop concert of all time was the Watch The Throne Tour. But that was the combined strength of Yeezy & Jay together. Em still sells well. The Monster tour raked in 31 mil. Idk what Drake's tours bring in someone should find that stats.
Jan 25, 2016 His would you like a tour averaged like 20k per venue or something but he's never really targeted an actual stadium. He's much bigger now than what he was then now. I know in Birmingham the tickets sold out in like 3mins so they booked a second day and that sold out in same time. 40k in total
Jan 25, 2016 Gotcha. This s--- is from 2014 and includes what a lot of artists are making at shows http://randjrecording.com/how-much-money-do-rappers-make-per-concert-wow/ "Label mate, Drake, demands a cool $155,000 per show" But tbh it might be different this year. Idk what Drake made from his shows in 2015 but in this article, it says that over all he made more than Dre. http://www.forbes.com/sites/natalie...earned-more-than-dr-dre-in-2015/#3c2637c216c3 EDIT: Yeezy and Jay both make 3 Mil per show.
