Nov 29, 2017 No, he's right. No1 wants to hear that old a--- s---. We wanna hear our generation's music and dont wanna hear that "back in my old day" bs old people preach.
Nov 29, 2017 Collegrove debate for 7 day theory over illmatic is so cringeworthy Illmatic is the most consistently brought up album when people talk about top hip hop records ever. Period
Nov 29, 2017 That's not what I was saying he was wrong about. He's wrong about these albums having no lasting impact. But like I said, this mentality is just as bad as the dusthead mentality.
Nov 29, 2017 Ok sure And u was the snake starting s--- in that Skype group or w/e Show ur real colors so often I needa remember your pigment from now on
Nov 29, 2017 Only because it's been forced upon everyone and people are forced to accept the fact that it's top 5 when its not anymore
Nov 29, 2017 If we are talking about greatest, Illmatic is definitely top 5 at worst. If we are talking about best, Illmatic doesn't sniff top 10. It's not even Nasir's best album.
Nov 29, 2017 I don't know about you guys but IRL people who are dust heads/new school heads only are actually not of the intelligence required for me to even talk to Like do you actually know people like that IRL? And you can actually hold a convo with them?
Nov 29, 2017 I can't get mad at them because I do the same thing. I would be a hypocrite. And I wouldn't expect them to understand why I have an attachment to the music I like because they didn't grow up in my era. This happens with every generation.
Nov 29, 2017 You probably haven't even listened to illmatic remember, you haven't listened to any old music
Nov 29, 2017 I didn't even start listening to rap until illmatic was almost 10 years old lol. I had to go back and listen to all the 90s classics well after they were released.
Nov 29, 2017 Because the album has impact, influence, and longevity. Greatest =/= best. I made a distinction Imma be honest, I used to like Illmatic a lot when I first started deep diving into rap. But now that sht lowkey overrated.
