Mar 6, 2016 because tpab isn't just above 9/10, it meets the criteria to be classic and is recognized as one by the hip hop community, whether you like it or not just gonna steal that post from beski So TPAB: -the consensus AOTY according to the critics, its also #1 on 90% of the end year lists. http://www.metacritic.com/feature/critics-pick-top-10-best-albums-of-2015 -the highest rated hip hop album of all time on Metacritic. -the reason kendrick has the most nominations in one night at the grammy (since Michael Jackson in 84). -has 2 songs being played in protests, one of them is named the new black anthem. -being taught at some universities. -had a scholarship in its name. -influenced some goat artists like David Bowie, Prince and Chuck D, all in the same year. -the highest rated album of the decade in any genre on multiple platforms like RYM that only take people's rankings into account. -had RollingStone Magazine calling Sway in the morning to say TPAB better be #1 on every end year list because it's the most ambitious album of the year, musically. -is probably one of the most respected rap album by modern jazz musicians. -contains Barack Obama's favorite song of the year. - etc -etc #Legendary Kendrick Wamar the president of the new school...So many W's he can start donating em to less fortunate rappers [IMG] "Tell me who the b---- n----- hating on me Jumping on my d-ck but this d-ck ain't free To p---- A Butterfly another classic CD" [IMG]
Mar 6, 2016 you're not the one who can label an album classic, the culture does, and TPAB is indeed a classic.
Mar 6, 2016 Like herbie hancock said, tpab also had a more important impact than just universal acclaim, being used in protests & its influence on goat artists (prince, david, probably herbie too, chuck d, etc) Like he said, it's also saving jazz music and its bringing a revolutionary movement
Mar 6, 2016 tpab & gkmc really his only classics so far, and I wouldn't be surprised if tpab ends up being his bigger classic
Mar 6, 2016 yeah.. I only like 1 one of his studio albums, but there's no denying that he has 2 classics, its a cultural thing
Mar 6, 2016 he needs a 3rd classic for the top 15 and a 4th for the top 10 but I have no doubt he will have one of the most consistent discographies in hip hop
Mar 6, 2016 Give it five more years. As years pass and generations move on, the previous' GOAT's flame goes out at some point. People aren't as crazy about Biggie or Pac as they were 5 years ago, I'm sure people won't be as crazy about Jay-Z or Em in 5 years and artists like Drake and Kendrick are gonna be considered new GOATs.
Mar 6, 2016 he will be considered so in time if he keeps this run up, but it's far too early to say right now. But he is the best right now imo
Mar 7, 2016 Did you just post a tweet from someone who would be in the NBA D league if the sixers weren't a joke, as proof of Kendrick being goat? Lololololol
