Is Talent Real?

    Well some people are naturally able to play instruments better. When i was a kid I was a great piano player, i was playing with 2 hands by my first year of school but i didnt stick with it and now I don't know s--- about pianos but im sure the kids who didn't pick it up quite as fast but stuck with it into adulthood are far more compitent than I am. Because although I was naturally talented at it I didnt enjoy it so I didn't dedicate any of my time to it

    so, if you were for example requested to do an impromptu piano performance for like a wedding or something similar, would you be able to play the keys from Still DRE? that's the important question here

    i will just pirate software for PC that lets you use your keyboard as a piano instead for you :coco:

    Some people are born with talent in different areas.

    Some people are genetically more athletic than others, however it doesn't mean they're necessarily going to the NBA over the people without that natural gift.

    It really depends on work ethic and talent. If your work ethic maximizes your overall talent in a given area, then you MIGHT have the ability to surpass someone who is naturally more gifted than you (in sports it could be athleticism, hand-eye coordination, technique, footwork etc).

    In music, it's similar. Someone like Kanye has a natural ear for good music, however he's maximized his potential, because the guy is always working.

    Some people have an extremely good memory (in terms of rhyming words together) and it's easier for them to construct lyrics. However, there are some rappers/artists that write all the time and progress as they practice.

    Some artists naturally have great voices for music/rap, and some struggle to find a voice that suits them. Some people are naturally great singers, and others spend countless hours and money on singing lessons or practicing.

    I'm glad you brought up Kanye, he spent 3 years making 5 beats a day during the summers from what I remember, obviously a but over exaggerated but you get the point. I guess the question now is does he naturally have an ear for good music or is it a learned thing

    Could be either. Like, someone like Jimmy Hendrix was just a natural at guitar. He was able to pick up things that nobody else could with the strings. Since then, people have learned how to do what he did, and you can teach it.

    I think it's the same with Kanye, to an extent. Production-wise, he just hears things that most producers just don't hear. And it's not only with his production, but his overall song writing.

    I think Kanye probably started out having a natural ear, but then he honed his craft.
