If you want to watch from an palestinian perspective you can do it here. The first channel is called Al-AQsa, which is basically Hamas' channel and therefore pretty radical of course so be mindful of that.
Ever heard of this little incident called Pearl Harbor? Trust me people will always find excuses, let it be in the name of honor, family or the current head of the state

But Japan wasn't doing that to get Hawaii or any land for that matter so that doesn't really match up. Their culture at the time was very fanatical religious like so it is similar in that way. They treated their country and their emperor like he was a God.

The fact is, without religion no one is fighting to the death over this land. there's no reason to recreate Israel. Are there still wars without religion? Of course, but people aren't this blind. If you knew there was no 'paradise' waiting for you when you died. you're not in a rush to sacrifice yourself or put yourself in a situation where you're likely to die

You should’ve made sure our actions were consigned to the dustbin of history when you took the reigns smh

I did, but I still need to finish the Korean season tbh lol — I’m surprised they’ve gotten to Afghanistan so soon, but I suppose modern conflicts are worth focusing on if the goal is understanding geopolitics rather than a mere fascination for history. I do think there’s an urgency for an Israel/Palestine season though.

Well if you're not a fan of religion I hate to break it to you Fatboy, religiousness is hard-wired too. And you don't have to believe or be motivated by belief in God or an afterlife to sacrifice yourself for a religious cause. White Americans for example slaughtered hundreds of thousands of each other to free blacks because of their obsession with the Christian idea of equality. And you'd better believe they'd do it all over again today in a heartbeat.

So if you think that the Civil War was religiously motivated, you'd have to admit religion can make people do good things too. If you don't think so, how do square this event with your view that only religion can make people run blindly to their deaths?

I know it's almost your bed time and your mom cuts off the internet soon, but you're not going to believe that some people actually don't need to be religious to do good things. They're just good to others without any other extra motivation. Wild concept. I never said being religious explicitly makes you a murderer. Of course most people who are religious, are good people whether it's because they fear the afterlife, or just using common sense. I grew up catholic and am fine not throwing money to the corrupt church. I have no issues with anyone who's religious as long as they don't try to push their ideologies/beliefs onto others, or use certain passages they read and misinterpret to justify hurting others.

If you think slavery ended because of religion and not because human beings recognized enslaving other human beings is a bad thing I don't know what to tell you lol. Parts of the South are literally called 'The Bible Belt' pretty sure they fought to keep slavery.

It could be both, with the first being matter of fact, the second a matter of opinion. I'm actually basically agreeing with you that people need religion (or something like it) to commit themselves to such a cause. That's why I brought up the Civil War as a case in point. There's no way it would have happened without that particular element of Christian fanaticism to stir people up. You may chalk it up to basic human decency, but the fact is these ideas didn't exist before Christianity.
All that means is that the Civil War was just one of countless wars of one Christian sect versus another. You could go further and argue white people took slaves with an (unconscious?) eye towards making them their equals, but they weren't all ready to give them up at the same time.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus - Galatians 3:28

To spell out my real point, since you're so dense, your religious brainwashing may have taken more than you realize.

worm can be dense when it comes to religion but i also can’t understand what it must be like to grow up catholic..i’ve never really felt like they were a true denomination of christianity..they’ve attacked and discredited christianity for thousands of years, chose which books to include in the bible, appointed themselves to god like figures, hold secrets in the vatican, protected vast networks of p3doph3lia, conspired with jesuits and other secret societies etc..

it’s important to remember every human believes things based on their own life experiences

Conflicting reports at the moment. I hope to f--- this ends up being a false-flag due to the nature of it, but if so, it would make sense that they would put this out to justify what they are doing to Palestine right now. The timing would be planned to perfection:

We are now also seeing conflicting reports that the Israeli woman that had been killed & paraded around on social media for atrocity propaganda means, is actually alive, but in hospital, according to her mother, who claims to have evidence of such. But we shall see:

The claims of mass r--- have been retracted now too:

    upload_2023-10-10_23-36-23.png

What we do know for certain though is Israel has been carpet bombing Gaza & has killed more than 250 children in the last 72 hours. They have also used white phosphorus on civilian areas & air-striked the Palestinian/Egypt crossing that Netanyahu told people to leave Gaza through. Also drone footage of Palestinian militants surrendering on the floor (becoming POWs) only to be mowed down by IDF fighter’s machine guns. Videos of Israeli’s urinating on Palestinian bodies, repeatedly driving over dead bodies etc. Israel has imposed a blockade on Gaza, blocking all incoming food, water, gas & electricity. Many breaches of international law, but what’s new?

Oh & an Israeli Minister is now calling for a nuclear missile attack to top it all off.

The Egyptians also warned of an imminent threat from Gaza for days before the Palestinian operation, but the Israelis did nothing with this information, along with Israel being known for its world renowned & battle-tested surveillance — which is suspect. This whole operation is starting to stink right now. The fog of war leaves us all in a scramble of information warfare.

Point is, collective punishment is bad, no matter which party to the conflict is committing the act(s) — but it is disingenuous to ignore the colonial power dynamic (occupier vs occupied), who has the global hegemon as an ally even when it commits acts of terror against it, the historical relations — the claims to the land, the past efforts of settling the disputes, the constant terror, violence, subjugation, ethnic cleansing & siege of Palestine by the Zionists. Murdering journalists (5 today alone), the March for Peace of 2018 where they shot & killed unarmed Palestinian civilians including children along with the ongoing encroachment to their land, uprooting the Palestinians from their homes, destroying ancient sites, pouring cement in water springs, as well as illegally occupying Syria’s Golan Heights the list goes on & on.

Hamas is a consequence of blowback from Israel’s divide & conquer tactics deployed over half a century:

Former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)

    https://theintercept.com/2018/02/19/hamas-israel-palestine-conflict/

Netanyahu to this day has remarked that they are still utilising Hamas against the Palestinian people:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Israel’s regular allowing of Qatari funds to be transferred into Gaza, saying it is part of a broader strategy to keep Hamas and the Palestinian Authority separate.

Israel is unsustainable in its current state & if they’re not careful they could wind up losing support both domestically & internationally leading to a full collapse from instability. I’ve been saying for multiple years now that on its current path I can’t envision it lasting till 2030. A change of course is desperately needed but I don’t know if their arrogance will let them. It seems like this conflict is only just beginning & peace is only in the minds of the powerless.

Thank you @hargydon, it's been so tough to figure out what's misinformation and what isn't...it sucks that as some of this stuff gets redacted, many people are still just gonna remember the first thing they read. I'm sure some of this is purposeful for that very reason.

Yup it’s clearly all done for the purpose of manufacturing consent & once the deed is done, it doesn’t matter if later on it turns out to be untrue — look how many examples we’ve had throughout history of false flags & deceitful propaganda utilised for war efforts, only to later be revealed as such & the people responsible go oopsie & walk away unscathed after massacring populations. Sickening. Yet we fall for it every time. I don’t know who’s worse in that dynamic.

It’s been a rough few days for me sweeping through the data, seeing all these awful images trying to put the puzzle pieces together best I can to get as close to the reality on the ground within my limited scope & there’s no doubt there’s still a lot unanswered including some of the above & who knows when/whether they will be.

It’s definitely lowered my mental health & I’m only a spectator to the conflict watching events through my phone, now imagine being there & experiencing the death & destruction all around you, not knowing if you & your family are going to live another day. I think I’m done for now with this, I need to stay away from the social medias because all of this is too toxic for the soul. There’s honestly nothing more sinister than atrocity propaganda & if karma existed the people that knowingly spread disinformation would pay a heavy price.
