but wasn’t what i’m suggesting the playbook for ukrainians? they were all able to go to neighboring countries and america..who cares about losing land when their own lives are at stake?

i understand many palestinians have died just this year alone but by launching thousands of rockets on the anniversary of the 1973 war on shabbat, what EXACTLY was the game plan for hamas? was this not the expected result? was what they did the only way? it puts the entire location at risk

i may be misunderstanding but it seems egypt was the only unwilling party to help palestinians, putting their own problems first..but they’re both arabic states, they should be united regardless as a bordering country

what’s the deal with the babies for you? you don’t believe because of the source? does anything change for you if true? i see the people voted in hamas but i can’t imagine them standing for this or maybe they do, as many of their loved ones have died but did hamas begin something they cannot finish? look how much the region relies on israel for literally every single basic human need (food, water, electricity, internet)

A civilian volunteer went on record & told CBS he saw the bodies of dead children. BBC has also corroborated the story as well. The Jerusalem Post also reported they confirmed photos of dead children.

If you wanna scream “fake news” like another particular group of people, go ahead. I like to trust various independent news orgs.

Ukrainians are going to rich countries & a lot have skills, training, education & assets potential to benefit the countries that end up harbouring them. If not Russia, to EU & NATO countries who have a direct stake in the conflict & also mostly have open-door policies for immigration. Completely different affair.

There are already 7 million Palestinians in the diaspora, living outside of the historic land of Palestine. 2.2 million live in the Gaza Strip. Israel has 85% of the land of historic Palestine despite having a 50/50 population ratio with Palestinians. There’s over 50 refugee camps in the Middle East inside & outside of Palestine with bulks of the diaspora already living in these camps in bordering Arab countries so to suggest they should just all accept being ethnically cleansed from their homeland & to move onto another form of poverty in someone else’s country is bizarre to me. Also, almost half of the population are minors. Egypt has demanded that its humanitarian convoys, medical personnel & a truce is enacted to allow the hundreds of tons of aid to enter Gaza, Jordan just recently delivered aid for Palestine to Egypt. Egypt is also allegedly seeking to allow up to 2,000 Palestinian civilians in per day. But none of this will go ahead if Israeli keeps air-striking the border.

Colonial resistance is something I don’t think we’ll ever understand from a visceral perspective, all we can do is listen to the affected.

Just quickly glancing through it now, mainly the view of historical claims & the pop psychoanalysis of why Hamas is fighting, that it’s ‘not for resistance/liberation’ — which seems to only stem from the fact that he disagrees with the methodology, which I don’t understand because liberation & decolonisation has never been peaceful, it’s an ahistorical statement. Also, the weird “Hamas would execute the ACAB lefties” — really reduces the analysis into cheap ungrounded jabs when he had a lot of great points in the meat of his writings.

He also failed to acknowledge Israel’s role in propping up Hamas to keep Palestine politically divided too. Also saying that everyone at the festival was innocent just completely ignores the daylight brutality of settler-colonialism that they can be partying next to an open-air prison that’s terrorised & mired in poverty & desperation on a daily basis by actions of their government! Let’s not forget that there is mandatory military service in Israel as well, no matter which way you put it, that’s an endorsement & complicity of the regime. Of course what Hamas did was horrible & an act of terror, but to not acknowledge these facts is to allow the situation to be distorted, in my opinion.

i wouldn’t go so far as to say “completely different affair” and i remember many men “of age” were conscripted into the ukranian military, the majority of refugees were also women and children

i did not know egypt announced they were allowing 2,000 people in per day..can’t tell if that’s to save face or what as at that rate it would take almost 3 years to get everyone out..i’m also not tryna put this all on egypt and i understand that with only one border open, it’s easy to let a lot of hamas militants through as well but that’s kinda how the american border operates anyways lol..(maybe not so much as of last week)

do you support the methods in which hamas started this war and will you and @DKC be participating tomorrow in your respective cities for jihad day?

we can listen to the affected but the people in charge of the affected do not care about them..they know they are defenseless and require israel for basic human sustainability..to me, they sacrificed their own people but you know me..

There is a lot of truth to this though. Hamas is an authoritarian paramilitary organization with ideological goals. Since coming into power in the 2006 Palestinian elections (which they didn’t even win a majority of the vote in), they’ve killed political opponents & ceased holding elections. They don’t represent Palestinians in the region hence their methods of clinging to power.
