Bad reviewers exist everywhere dude, to say that a site that features a wide range of music genres has a "closeminded staff" is moronic.

They aren't close-minded because of the genres of music they review. They are close-minded because of the standards in which they review certain things and how they go about reviewing them. And I don't just hate Pitchfork. Theres alot of other reviewers that I would call bad

Not specific reviewers but it's like I've seen most of the questionable reviews come from places like Pitchfork, PopMatters (not suprisingly), and XXL. TheNeedleDrop too

There are 20 reviews published in the first page of their albums section, after a quick glance all of them are done by different people, that means 20 f---ing different reviewers in just one page (unless I missed something.) How many reviews from pitchfork have you read? How do you know that they judge every album based on the same criteria?

Pitchfork has a lot of reviewers, some of them are bad and some of them are good. Collectively written pieces like end of the year lists can have questionable / pretentious choices here and there, but thinking that a hive mind produces the same reviews and has the same mentality about all these albums is ridiculous. You didn't even name any examples of not only bad, but similar reviews.

I visit pitchfork because it has all the new music that someone could ask for (even more, actually); other sites that I like for my non-rap music are rateyourmusic, last.fm and a bit of youtube. I frequently post about the music that I enjoy here and well, everyone can tell that I'm not a hipster lol. Calling me a hipster would be a good way to farm likes if I were wpg and we were still in the 1st page, but that's not the case, sorry :dno:

I don't really care about the article in the OP but it's not like there were many on-topic replies so who cares

I meant to post this a few days ago and forgot. Though I'm a Drake fan and enjoyed IRRTITL, I agree with most of what she said—I'd tried explaining why I was getting "over" Drake's current persona to some of my friends and they didn't really get what I meant; this outlines it pretty perfectly.

I've seen at least like 50 different pitchfork reviews. Majority of them were hip hop reviews and almost all of them were questionable to me. I didn't feel the need to recall them. I may be generalizing p4k unfairly but my many visits to their site and their reviews gave me a really bad impression of them that most likely won't ever change.

I wasn't trying to maliciously insult you or fish for likes when I called you a Pitchfork hipster. I was saying that you defending them comes off as you favoring them pretty strongly. I thought my tone saying that was tongue in cheek. I have noticed alot of the pitchfork best new music albums are the ones that alot of yall praise and the ones they s--- on are the ones that yall s--- on tho. It may be a coincidence or not. It's not that big of a deal tho really. Sorry if you took offense. I wasn't trying to insult you or put you down or anything. I also don't want to argue about this. This is petty and I don't like this negative vibe

Pretty strongly? I only said that the staff's not closeminded lol, we had to fill the page with bull for you to admit that you're generalising unfairly, and you mainly read rap reviews (an extremely small percentage of the site's content.)

They gave 9.3 to Jamie xx's album, it was forgettable and bland to me, with only 3 good songs; they gave Tame Impala's Currents (a band that I'm a big fan) a 9.3, Currents was average af; they gave TPAB a 9.3, I think it's easily worse than his previous 2 (I'm a huge Kendrick fan) and they gave C&C a 9.3 for good reason (aoty), but looks like I praise all the albums they praise (for the record, I've posted about all these albums before.) Also I have no idea who are we all, as there are like 5 people who talk about non-rap music frequently here and many of our opinions differ. As for their rap reviews, idc about them because I already have this forum to find rap music and I try to elaborate every time <(^_^)>

Sorry for being petty and talking out of my a--- mate, I'll try to make more valid points next time instead of bringing up memes.

You were talking about something completely different that what I was talking about. The fact that you are defending them so adamantly is what makes me think you favor them "pretty strongly". Their close-mindedness again, is not about what they review, it's how they review. From my perception, most of them are. Only reason I said it may have been a generalization is because I haven't seen every single one of their reviews so I don't know if there are alot of them that don't make me shake my head. I really don't appreciate your passive-aggresive, condescending tone if it actually is. I tried to be the bigger person, drop this and clear the misunderstanding but I feel like you are still trying to one up me. This really isn't something worth arguing about. Like I said I wasn't trying to put you down or anything. And in case you didn't know, I didn't say everything they like you like. I just made a statement about the possible connection. I don't want to say who yall was referring to because I don't want to keep this going. Bye man

Jamie's album seemed very "safe" to me; it shows range but for the most part sounds like a watered down version of Tomorrow's Modern Boxes. It's a pleasant hearing and has some great moments but it doesn't do anything exceptionally. Not bad by any means but very uninteresting. Would you listen to this over anything by Burial? edit: well the thug song might be top 5 this year

About Tame Impala, I appreciate that they tried to change their sound; the production is on point and it has some nice melodies, but I feel that the whole record is very homogenous for its own good and tires me. I expect their next album to be much better, if the continue in this direction. Let It Happen, The Less I Know Better are very good. Good background music, hasn't offered much more to me though. Willing to give it more chances.

The only thing intriguing about this article is his seemingly hypocritical stance about Twitter. Apart from that I really don't have time for the mysoginistic argument and the feminist tirade. She says she liked Take care and thank me later but those arguments would apply then and it's not like drake holds himself up as a saint.

This article doesn't provide any reason as to why anyone else "should break up with Drake." It's just as an example of how people's views change about an artist because their life changes so they grow out of liking said artist.
