I was so focussed on the album being about the story of James that on Neighbours when Cole says "MFer I am" that it could also simply mean that Cole is selling dope music lol.JC9, Ordinary Joel, Rowney and 6 others like this. -

After FHD and 4YEO I can finally forgive Cole for TSS and Born Sinner (which was cool but still slightly under par to warm up and FNL).... These last two albums have been Cole finding exactly what album Cole should sound like and it has been beautiful to witness. His return to grace. That initial celebrity Cole was gassed up and lost in the fame a little bit so glad he caught himself. -

another thing which i think will get lost in the post but its too crucial ...
in ville mentality i love how the “n----- play me never, give up my chain never” part comes right after the young girl talking ... not sure if u all caught that but its him saying the street mentality where you never “give up your pride” is basically equivalent to acting like a child ... its a childs mentality ... the way he delivers these lines makes that clear as well

I think what makes Neighbors so good to me is Cole'a flow, matched with the beat. Elite's story also provides a great visual for me.Equis, Ordinary Joel, GKBS and 6 others like this. -

We live in a time where people can't even appreciate or realize how great this album is because they wanted a "FNL II or a more improved 2014 FHD" or it dont have enough "bangers". If people listen to Cole for bangers, then those people never knew what his music is about. When I discovered Cole on Youtube in 2009 because of a link in the comment section, I was instantly hooked, downloaded The Warmup and guess what..not one of those songs were "bangers" they were just based in some real life s--- that a normal person can relate too. His music has always been based on Real. That's what this album is..Real.
And theses mumbling a--- rappers and don't write they own verses a--- rappers get all the glory. We need music like this. I still don't understand how a form of music based on words has gotten reduced to mumbling??
Give me real music like this anyday of the week.Ordinary Joel, Esco, heirmozhi and 6 others like this. -

This album is the best I've ever felt about any Cole project since FNL. That's no exaggeration... I've been listening to this over and over again, and after like the 9th or so listen EVERY song is so incredible.
