What's y'all feelings on the album? Don't want to go through 150 pages lmao, but here's my two cents...
This album is definitely a grower, first time I heard it I was completely thrown off by the sound and didn't really understand it at all, took me a few listens to really start getting into it. In my opinion this doesn't top FHD but then again it isn't really directly comparable, as this album is totally different to anything Cole has done before, but even with that said this album is still fantastic in its own right.
The intro is up there with one of Cole's best intro tracks and Immortal, Change, Neighbors and 4 Your Eyez Only are my personal highlights. The only songs I wasn't f---ing with were the singing tracks, for example Ville Mentality should have been left off the album, that off key singing wasn't appealing at all. The She Mine tracks were cool but I don't see myself playing them often cos of the singing, even though I liked the rapping parts on the tracks. De Ja Vu I hated at first listen but grew on me a lot, can see this being the main single from the album.
The story and message of the album is f---ing crazy, the title track really might be the best song Cole has ever made, no exaggeration that song was jaw dropping. That last verse made me shed a tear. Special shout out to the first verse on Neighbors too, that rhyme scheme was too f---ing ill. I appreciate and respect Cole for making an album like this, even though I don't f--- with every song. If he really did make it for his dead friends daughter than that's f---ing dope. He been rapping about her for years and we never knew this whole backstory, "I'm playing daddy to another n-----'s daughter" on 2face.
A part of me feel's there is more music to come though, like another album/mixtape/is on the way, it just feels kind of incomplete to leave it like this and for Cole to go on another hiatus. I feel like he made this album for himself and his friends daughter, and he got another project on the way for his fans. He didn't take a two year break just to come back with 10 songs and leave again. And even though this is doing monster numbers first week I don't see this album having the overall commercial success and longevity as FHD, which was still selling 10k a week after almost two years. When I sit with the album some more I could end up liking it even more or maybe less but those are just my initial thoughts so far after a couple days.FrenchKick, Rowney, Ordinary Joel and 6 others like this. - May 11, 2025

My final thoughts for now ...
i really do like that cole finally did a true concept album
but n----- you gota release them s----s more, u in the prime of ur career ...
now is the time where he should be releasing like a bunch of different concept albums
we've always said storytelling is his best strength which he wasn't using to its full potential .. start exploring more stories and concepts ... why the h--- not ??

Given up tryna catch up on the thread but some thoughts...
Folding clothes is actually a dope song if you ignore the lyrics. Like I can imagine it being a maroon 5 track on the radio and I think that's the vibe that Cole was going for. But I can't believe he devoted more than 5 mins of a 40 min album to it. That's inexplicable.
Another typical Cole move is not displaying Ari as a feature on Change. I think she did enough to warrant a feature but it seems to be Cole's stubborness for that not to happen. Would have been great exposure for her if she was the only other name on the tracklist. Classic Cole shooting down his own artists again.Ordinary Joel, Equis, Ngcebo and 6 others like this. -
