On the real though, happy those two tracks won't be in the album, the more new the better, I'll throw them in the album after the fact as a bonus track sort of deal.Baja, Ordinary Joel, Equis and 10 others like this. -

The only thing wrong with really wrong with Fantano is how he harps/lingers on certain little detials to a fault. He did the same thing with the came "fast like 911 in White Neighborhoods," where he expected some social commentary when its just a simple metaphor. With this album he seemed to be calling certain lines filler. With the Deja Vu intro (put your finger in the sky) I feel him 100% but when he went in on the "before my very eyes, should come as no surprise" line on For whom the bells tolls as just "filler" it was just too much. That line is fine especially in the context of the whole project having premonition vibes but to each his own.boyz n the suburbs, Ordinary Joel, AgentDB7 and 9 others like this. -

Neighbors isn't a break in the story actually. Neighbors can be looked from the perspective of Cole's d--- dealing friend and his neighbors think he's selling dope.
It comes after change, which is the friend trying to change for the better, but even if he does change people will still think he's selling dope.
Also, it parallels with Cole life's of buying a house in a upscale white neighborhood to make music in the basement. But all the people going in a out the house (dreamville members and friends) made the neighbors think he's selling dope. Also, no matter how successful you are as a minority in America, that stereotype kind of follows you even if it's not true because of how blacks and minorities are portrayed by society.

Cole played guitar and bass (like we saw in the documentary) on the album. n----s can talk about his production all they want but its something to be said about an individual that masters his craft and expand his repertoire. Mad respect for Cole.Esco, pittsports87, Baja and 9 others like this. -

Man, I've listened to this album about 10 times and imo it's easily Cole's best album. s----s absolutely beautiful from start to finish; just came to the realization earlier that the first track (for whom the bell tolls) is actually the final moments of the guys life "rain pouring down before my very eyes, should come as no surprise" is him getting gunned down. Maybe I'm a little slow to realize that but I haven't seen a lot of people acknowledge this. Also, after getting married & having my daughter (my first child) a few months ago I was legit brought me to tears by "she's mine pt. 2", just like the first time I listened to Cole 6 years ago he strikes these chords where it's like d--- that's exactly how that feels, and that s--- hit in such a personal way it's probably one of my favorite songs of all time by anyone. But yea, I thought I'd post how I felt about this since I'm probably not gonna be on here often, coming from someone who's been dissapointed by this n----- numerous times, 4yeo is truly a great album imo.Last edited: Dec 12, 2016Jay Daniels, Kloppinho, 2014 Forever Lives JCN and 9 others like this. -
