    bascially everything up until the last part I was like :drake4: (often times, I feel like the young turks just dont get it 100%) but more outlets are focusing on this issue and they have a huge following (but idiotic commenters)

    Most of the women's points were solid but the guy's points were all hypothetical and speculative so he definitely lost me. But I'm glad people are talking about Jay-Z's take on the whole thing. In my experience (as a white kid of privilege) most of what Hov said resonated and I identified with him. Whether it be on social media or in person, I've had more interactions than I can count based out of hip-hop and they've been with people of all racial and economic backgrounds (JCN and S80 for example allow me/us to interact with people literally around the world).

    So... I agree with most of what Hov said even if he may have oversimplified it.
    That being said, I'd like to see him answer some of the questions raised in the following article

    I feel like a lot of the time the negative perception of Hip-Hop has to do with fans, more often than people realise anyway. Fans will hear Swimming Pools out of context, not listen deeper and go drink. Fans will hear ScHoolboy Q's Hands On The Wheel, not realise its meaning in the context of Habits & Contradictions and now they're more likely to drink drive. Part of the reason a stereotype is there is because unfortunately, most of the time that they're picked out, they're not wrong.

    I wish more young fans cared about the culture.

    Has anyone read Jay Z's Decoded? The part about the literal Hip-Hop Police was crazy.
