all u really need to know about that article is that she quoted f---ing Shea Sarano aka the biggest cole hate/dickrider (combined in one) of all time on twitter (literally all he posts is cole hate) as a source to back up her opinions

i really feel like theres some sort of conspiracy theory against cole, same way the machine trying to bring drake down ... cause they both too strong and did it without much help from the media ...

IB said that in the rap radar podcast which i actually just listened to yesterday ... he said the potential reason why he thinks the media hates so heavy on cole is cause he did everything he has done without them, it was the people who discovered him and kept bringing him his success and the media kept thinking he wud fail but he just keeps getting bigger and as a whole they have too much pride to change their opinions so won't give cole his props

i was going to say the collab album will change everything - and i never thought id say this but tbh i may be getting closer and closer to wanting it to just be a game changing cole solo thats dropping in February

than again maybe thats what they want us to think cause like i said they want to pit rap fans against each other cause they know the collab album will change the world and THEY don't want the world to change

I agree. I talked about this before, the whole "there can only be one", "if you're not with us you're against us" mentality that has taken over since the start of social media. I didn't bother to read the article. One thing about "journalists" and random people on twitter and forums is they like to make these declarations (this person is better than this person, such and such had the best album of the year) which are opinions, and try to pass them off as facts. So what you prefer Kendrick, or wish it was him, was that worth an article? Your lone, bleak opinion as a stan was worth a whole article?

I hate that Cole and Kendrick are constantly pitted against each other because it's obvious they have a genuine friendship and respect one another as artists. It's clickbait at the end of the day and we're all feeding into it.

I agree so much with what you said there at the end. I think the media made up its mind about Cole back around the Sideline Story days. They felt he was an above average rapper who they didn't think deserved Jay's recognition. They didn't like how he kept talking about changing the game and, to be fair, that was his low point in his career as the general consensus was that he disappointed people after a lot of hype. Since then, he stopped doing much media, he had words for XXL and Complex. He stopped doing radio shows. And yet, he grew his fanbase and became huge, without the same marketing push which Kendrick got. He then gave the ultimate FU to the media traditionalists and released FHD out of nowhere, without promotion or doing interviews with magazines to promote his work (and give them clicks/views) and it did huge (better than their savior Kendrick). I think a lot of the media members don't like that and are stuck in their opinions of what they thought he was (boring, corny, etc..).

The media has Kendrick for their lyrics and consciousness and Drake for the hits. Cole does both very well but not as good as them in their respective strengths, and he shuns the media for the most part. The criticism from these so-called "critics", will be there for a while. Unfortunately for them, he's only getting better and his fanbase is only growing. I still firmly believed FHD was more successful in almost all aspects than TPAB, and I don't think TPAB had nearly as much an impact as the media tries to make it out to have.

& Drake is awesome lol I'd want a Drake/Cole collab over Kenny/Cole but either would be amazing.

Matter of fact, Cole should forget all that and drop a collab with Action Bronson
