    I just think theres no reason for cole to come out of nowhere and drop an album when he can just take a couple weeks to let kanye's hype die down and then have all the eyes (ears) on him

    ah i see, you're saying he can traverse to jodeci territory better than drake can.

    i agree that bryson has some independent qualities, and that's why i think he's more of a prospect than a starter. dude has a long way to go, but he has the skill set to make impactful music imo.

    Ever since Floyd called out pac for steroids use in 09, manny hasn't had a knock down. Seems a fishy to me. I know we could never know with certainty but still...

    missing almost all GOOD Fridays he told us he was gonna do, putting out an essentially unfinished track (NMPILA), not even having a name tacked down for his album which is being released weeks from now...

    that's true, floyd is my second favourite fighter ever too, so i believe him 110% when he says that.

    nothing wrong with that, it's the best approach to music too fam. you listen to music to have a good time, nothing else should matter.

    but I'm just saying that there are objective qualities that make pac a better rapper than wiz khalifa for example.

    Even sports is not completely objective. There is definitely subjectivity. But subjectivity is way greater in music. In sports there is a clear end result that can't be denied: winning. Even though there can be controversy, winning in sports cannot be denied. Championships cannot be denied. There is no true equivalent in music. What is winning in music? Grammy? Sales? There's no trophy. Yeezus could be great to you and a "win" but it could be trash to someone else. That extremity is not in sports thats why the "greatness" argument is more engaging to me because its way more objective.

    that's true, sports does have more clearly defined accolades.

    but going back to the original point, what's wrong with a rapper thinking he's the greatest? think back to all of the NY rappers that came up in the 90s, Nas said that you went in thinking you were the best, otherwise you weren't going to break out. that's why rap was so competitive back then.

    @Mike Tyson drake has never dropped an r&b album. I personally don't think he could make a fire 12 track r&b album. his best r&b tracks are throwaways. His other best r&b tracks are with help from these artists he's "birthed". Some of these dudes he gets credit for (Weeknd, PND) been making music (which is better as far as R&B goes imo) just as long as Drake. I think he gets way too much credit for this "sound".
