    Like Born Sinner isn't a bad album, but that album was the followup to a debut butchered by the label. Dude had a very long creative leash, and he came up with Born Sinner. It felt short of expectation.

    I feel like I should clarify that because things are already tense in here lol.

    Ok that's fine. But my point is he's still better now. Even when he's cringe he's less cringe. Everybody knows Cole ain't touching CD-MBDTF Ye but this Ye is a joke as a writer to me.

    He's not tho. Cole doesn't make better music than Ye when Kanye isn't experimenting and this album proves it. Cole also doesn't have the talent to push himself musically like Kanye does to this day. It took Cole 5 years to finally craft his mixtape sound on a album.

    As a writer Cole takes it, but as a creative and an artist, Cole has yet to show that he can match, let alone eclipse Kanye.

    TLOP does fail in penmanship but musically, it's genius.

    And Cole choses these fucktards to be around him. How does Ced have the right to be sending shots when Cole's mixing will never match Ye's. Seriously, Cole should have dumped his a--- a long time ago. And are you telling me that no one on his team told him not to put Hello in the album. Like no one could tell him that was a 6/10 song at best. Of all the 10/10 songs in sure he recorded, we get Hello :srsguy:I feel like Cole has made so many weird decisions that he wouldn't make if he had the right people around him. And why does IB spend all his time on Twitter sending shots at random people. Is that all you have in life? Jermaine seriously needs to find himself a new team, not annoying yes men.

    But that's the thing. You don't analyze Kanye from JUST a musical standpoint and give his writing a pass. It's a marriage. If it was purely about production and musical ideas he could just give me the instrumental version. I'm not even asking Ye to rap like he did on CD or have 48 bars on every song. But even the writing on 808s is dope for the sound and direction he was going for. Ye gotta be able to do both we can't be giving the genius a pass just because of his discography. It doesn't work that way.

    I agree and that's why I'm saying that in this form, the album is not perfect.

    But there is no checklist or rubric to rate rappers by. You don't evaluate Young Thug the same way you do Future even, let alone someone like Cole or Kanye. Kanye is sold as a creative or a director not as a lyricist. That dates all the way back to College Dropout.
