    That was before FHD. I'm sure he'd appreciate it but he doesn't care about award shows anymore. Hasn't been to a single one even the ones he won for.

    Lmao exactly. @Kold he also said cheer up was Grammy worthy, also said crooked smile was Grammy worthy. Cole cared like crazy until fhd. And even now he prolly still cares a bit

    I'm sure he'd appreciate it but he doesn't care like that anymore. You're talking about the pre-FHD era when he was trying to prove himself to people that don't matter. n----- is at peace with music and life. You can see it by the way he acts and moves. He doesn't even go to any award shows whatsoever and has not public acknowledged winning the billboard award or American music award. He literally cares about the fans on nothing else. Not reviews or anything else like he tweeted:

    When talking about the music in general, some casual listener will never know and will never care about Nas, and that's facts. Why you always bring up Nas anyway, why is he the standard for anything? s--- he did was 20 years ago, the criteria and the whole culture was way different and inferior back then.

    Does this make the gap between Cole and Kenny bigger?

    I mean mainstream wise? We all said that Cole closed the gap with FHD but now with TPAB winning 4 and counting....

    I don't think this is an L for Cole... just proves TPAB was an amazing project.

    So is this a popularity contest or a quality contest? I'm getting confused. And was the criteria different when GKMC didn't win or was it the right decision and a decision the hip hop community largely agreed with? Again, I'm not denying the Grammys cultural significance. But when I'm arguing about music I will never bring up reviews, sales or awards. I don't think MJ is great because of awards just like I don't think Nas is great because of awards. I can think for myself and that's all that matters. And the only reason I bring up Nas is because he's better than most artists that have won multiple Grammys imp.

    imo the kenny cole comparison is unfair. Kenny got to watch coles failures and capitalized on them to the maximum. Kenny is on pace for top 5 DOA. Comparing anyone to kenny rn is unfair tbh. Dude is just on another level. Even kanye called him the God MC. :idk:

    I agree. So was outside opinions about his music in general. So was Jays opinion. But he made the leap not caring about outside opinions and I can tell he genuinely doesn't care because of the way he moves like I said. Watch the interviews again. A person who cares would tweet about winning an award. He's literally said nothing.

    I think that he as 2 classic albums... without a doubt, but that seems like a lot to me.

    I do agree that Kenny capitalized off Cole, but having said that... it's not like Cole in there making his songs/albums.

    It's both, as it should be. It isn't all about music, artist is being much more than that. And that's your opinion, and I'm fine with that. But I'm talking in general. I'm talking debating 20 people of which 18 will bring that s--- to the table. There is no really debating that, cause them aren't really wrong if it's something globally acclaimed. That would mean that your taste and opinion is superior to almost anyone else's :idk:
