    Well it really starts with coaching, Johnny Jones is a terrible coach, they don't run any type of offensive sets. There are a few play makers on that team Keith Hornsby and Antonio Blakney are great shooters and Craig Victor is a good rebounder and post player, but everyone on the team lacks fundamentals and there's no heart. People like to compare Ben to the greats (Lebron, Magic) but he doesn't have a killer instinct and he literally disappears in games, he's scared to shot and he doesn't play defense at all. He's still a great passer and can post up, but he has he to develop and jumpshot and maybe he will over time, but right now he has major flaws in his game.

    I'm sure you only care from an LSU standpoint but he'll prob be much better in the NBA. There isn't a better freshmen in college is there? He gets a jumper and he'll be nice

    Yeah, but I'd still rather take Brandon Ingram or Buddy Hield before I take Ben. I think his game is going to take 2-3 years to develop.

    The fact that he averages the points/boards/assists/etc. that he does without ANY help shows he's as talented as anyone in the country. Yeah he needs to develop a jump shot, but to say he's "afraid to s---t" is foolish. I've watched a game of his almost every week and he's steadily improving all parts of his game, his jumper isn't even broken he just doesn't s---t. And if you're drafting someone with the number one overall pick, you're thinking about someone to carry your franchise for the next decade-plus, not someone who needs to be ready from day one. Even so, he's an above average rotation player on any NBA team right now with his passing, rebounding, athleticism, and ball handling.

    Also, comparing a perceived lack of heart (which is erroneous anyways) to LeBron is hypocritical anyways. LeBron was soft until 2011 when he became the legendary competitor he was always capable of.

    My contention is that, at a minimum, Ben Simmons becomes a better version of Lamar Odom, which any franchise would sign-up for with a number one pick compared to whatever else there is in this draft class. Simmons's game has been picked apart for months because he's that good and is a no-doubter to be drafted first. But he's more NBA ready than anyone else while also having the highest ceiling of anyone else in the draft.

    Well it's not like he's averaging 25-30 points a game and the rest of the starters on the team average double figures. I've seen him play in person and on tv defenders dare him to shot they're always sag off him. He would be more of a threat on offense if he did shot more, it's way too easy to stop him. Whenever he brings the ball up the court teams just pack the lane and he just ends up committing a TO. This team is almost 30 games deep in the season and he I've seen take maybe one or two jumpshots a game.

    As far as improvements in his game I don't see it. His defense has been weak all season, he takes plays off I just feel like he checked out a long time ago and is waiting to get drafted.

    decided to give these needledrop reviews a listen again after I stopped because I felt like he was BSing Cole back in the day. But I'm glad I gave him another shot cuz his videos are d--- good
