I'm not saying there was no purpose or it didn't work in the context of the album. But Kendrick just doesn't sound that good with a lazy flow. And that isn't even one of Hit-Boy's best beats. At first, I liked it a lot, but that track dipped in replay value. So yeah its mediocre compared to the rest of the album.

Lmao. I get what you're saying but this is music. Completely different than sports which is a lot more objective. Plus if we are going off things like critical acclaim, Yeezus is one of the best albums of the 2010s.

still dont understand why people nitpick so much, and these two songs (especially the 2 verses ur referring to) are perfect examples of that

whenever those verses come on i cant help but just start rapping along, the criticisms that people make (especially apparently 2nd verse) dont even cross my mind ... n----- just flowing

Lol. Based on what though? Again I understand what you mean, but what you think is better is also what you prioritize in rap? If you're being "objective" you basically can't account for emotion, because artist's ability to evoke emotion is so subjective based on who the listener is. But Pac is somehow considered one of the greatest, and if you take out emotion he displayed through his raps I'm not sure that's the case. Obviously there was a lot of other things he did for hip hop culture, but emotion is rap is synonymous with Pac.

That's why music is so hard to judge music. Yes there is some amount of objectivity, but when you get to a certain level of quality, objectivity is not enough because music is not a complete science.

That's why the statement FHD>GKMC can't be factually wrong even though I think GKMC is better.

That's the problem with having these arguments though. Does the fact that the Intro of FHD evokes more emotion in me than any other song I've ever heard mean that its just great to me because it relates to my mindset or can I use that to explain how its one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. How I'm I supposed to explain these feelings to someone who doesn't get it or is just not in that place in their life?

Thats the problem with music right there. I can try to explain that s---, but I can't truly translate how the music makes me feel to someone who is in a different space, and I believe these attachments about the way the music makes us feel that subconsciously affect how we judge albums. At the end of the day, how objective can you really be?
