    I feel its intention is clearer than poetic justice. I didn't even know poetic justice was supposed to be a simp song for some time cause of kendick's verse. I thought Drake went off topic or something. Instead, he saved it.

    d--- I'm listening to sideline story rn and I actually enjoy it. There are many good songs on here. Still don't likes ones like cold world and nobody's perfect tho. 7.5/10

    I would let it slide before FHD but now? Like what :what22:
    January 28, atotc, GOMD, fire squad, and st. Tropez have some of the best beats out there.
    Not even mentioning the perfect atmosphere of the intro and note to self :srsguy:

    WOW never heard this or I just don't remember. His delivery is better on the released version. If he spit like that on those last 2 verses it would be fire. Drake kills it on that song though. But I skip it alot honestly

    The more and more I think about it, the more I realize our opinions about music are way more influenced by what's going in our lives at the time than we would like to think.

    That's why I'm honestly starting to wonder how much objectivity has a place in music. Obviously, if I made a track right now it would be objectively worse than any Cole song, but connections with music in a moment or certain time period is really the essence of a classic to me the more I think about it. The nostalgia. What might be classic for you might not be classic for someone else.

    Obviously if we are talking impact as a measure of classic that is more objective but impact doesn't necessarily always mean better even though it's something to commend. And no offense to past classics but as great as illmatic is, I have no connection there. These great album of my generations are my classics and that's heavily dictated by my personal experience as well as my perception of the quality of music.
