I agree but losing to a team that plays better than you doesn't always equal "choke." He was off for most of the night anyway minus the brief explosion.

smh and you were co-signing that "KD choke" post the other day. That word is thrown around way too much and is usually off base. Anyways, I don't think Pop has any reason to try and beat the warriors Thursday or the other game. Great chance they still get 73.

Nah I wasn't necessarily like that post for the "choke" part. I was liking the post because OKC has had late game problems that KD and Russ must be held accountable for. They gotta be better down the stretch just like curry should have been way better last night and the reason they lost. With OKC it's become a recurring pattern the whole season which is way more worrying. But i feel you. People throw around the word choke to much. I'm at fault for doing the same sometimes.

sure, it's a concern. but not a huge one. and it's mainly on defenses tightening up and ignoring every player that isn't KD and Russ in crunch time than actually KD and Russ. People really think some great players have some kind of mental block that lets them play well 75% of the time but makes them choke in the last minutes. Steph is fortunate enough to actually have many other play-makers and shot makers on his team. But this OKC choking thing is mostly a narrative that's driven by people who only watch the nationally televised games. I'll direct you read this great paragraph.

• You’ve probably seen the disturbing plus/minus fourth quarter stat for OKC by now. It’s certainly alarming. But a couple things about that: 1) Look at tonight’s margin. The Nuggets won the fourth 25-17. That’s a +8. There have been a lot of games this season where the bench has let a 25-point game slip to 15. Let’s just say the garbage time group has been outscored by five in 10 different games this season. That’s a -50. So while that stat is definitely eye-opening, I do think it’s a bit misleading. 2) The Thunder have held the second-most leads through three quarters in the league this season (Spurs are the most). More than the Warriors. You can look at that as the Thunder don’t close games — which is true — while also having the common sense to know that while 13 blown fourth quarter leads catches attention, it also means the Thunder have had a bunch of chances to blow them. And 3) when the Thunder lead by five or more after three, they’re now 40-5; up six or more, 35-3; up 10 or more 29-1. So this narrative that the Thunder choke in the fourth isn’t exactly true.
