    Yea true. Few of those years were weird. Shoulda been Kobe in 06 but I think Nash shoulda won over dirk if I remember correctly.

    LeBron was 1 vote away from being unanimous MVP. That 1 Celtics reporter gave Melo his MVP vote cause he was so butthurt from all the a--- whooping King James gave em throughout the years.

    Kobe having 1 is a shame. Media always hated him until this year.

    They should have player of the year and MVP awards. If we're truly talking about most valuable, then somebody like Lillard for example is more deserving.

    MVP in the NBA is basically just the best player on the best team.

    I agree. Steph was the best player this year NO DOUBT but there's NO ONE more valuable than lbj. Not even Steph. Without lbj the cavs wouldn't have beat Detroit. His team is deplorable without him.

    Without Damian lillard Portland wouldn't even make the playoffs. I would argue he's more valuable than even LBJ. Cavs would still make playoffs without Lebron. And MVP has always been the best performing player and the most valuable player to the league. Never has meant the most valuable player to his team because you could argue MJ doesn't deserve most of his MVPs considering they made the ECF without him when he took a break.

    @Lockness brought up the best point. Lebron is highly valuable but with him they won 57. Without him they would win at least 40. With steph the Warriors win 73. Without him they win around 50-55. It still comes to the same thing value wise. Currys team is better without him but he makes them even better than they would be.
