The Lebron's Finals Record argument is becoming so dumb to me. Yes we can't sit here and celebrate him if he loses again but the way people talk him possibly going 2-5 if the Cavs lose has no context. 1 of those finals losses was purely on him (Mavericks). Twice with the Cavs the team was just outmatched whether due to injury or just talent and in Miami they were out matched and the rest of the Miami team didn't show up.

Additionally, we are almost creating a scenario where its better for Lebron to lose in the ECF or semi finals and not make it to the finals so his finals record would stay unscathed. As a competitor that s--- pisses me off. Now its almost better to lose without going the furthest you can than lose getting as close to the top as possible and I couldn't agree less.

agreed but at the same time a GOAT just finds a way to win on the biggest stage

or maybe MJ just set too high a standard being 6-0

it just looks like a clear blemish on a so-called GOATs record having such a poor record in the finals

@Kold well a 2-5 record would be less of a reflection of him as a player and more a reflection of the relative weakness of the eastern conference itself over the past three years, including the deficiencies of the team's he's played on. No matter how great he is, his teams and eastern conference teams in general are deficient in comparison to the west. I'm predicting a 5-game series win for GS this year. Lebron will have huge numbers, Kyrie's will have a few big scoring/assisting games, but after those two, each match-up is heavily in favor of GS. Even as good as Kyrie is, his head to head matchup isn't in his favor. If the Cavs lose, it's not Lebrons fault. GS is just too strong.

@2014 Forever Lives JCN summed it up well. Compared to Jordan it just looks bad.

Jordan had a better team through all 6 rings than LeBron ever had. They even managed to win 54 games without him. The key in basketball is team. This ain't 3 on 3 street s---.

Yeah. That's why discussions of who's the goat are pointless to me. Also MVPs have become a reflection of a team and a player more than an individual award. Lebron gets dinged for an L in the finals in '07 when his team had no business being there in the first place if it wasn't for him being so amazing individually.

That's what I said few weeks back when we had a similar discussion. Bulls had so many weapons offensively and defensively on those teams. Warriors have that too, maybe not to that extent but they do. LeBron never played on a team as stacked as Bulls and Warriors. He made it seem like Miami was stacked cause he was in his absolute prime those last 3 years. Mario f---ing Chalmers, Norris Cole at point, Mike Miller without his back and knees, Ray Allen, Mike Bibby and Shane Battier in the sunset of their careers, Udonis Haslem and Chris Andersen aka the energy guys... Good pieces but to put in perspective none of those guys weren't better at that point than Andre Iguodala or Toni Kukoc who were the 6th mans on those teams. Most of the fans, matter of fact most of the people on this earth ain't too much intelligent so I learn to accept that and just don't care.

I agree with everything y'all said. Maybe because I never thought Lebron would be better than Jordan is why I'm able to not look at the finals record of as stain as much as other people even though it definitely matters. Losing isn't good. But it's a team sport and context matters. Curry, Jordan, Kobe have all had consistently better teams imo. I'm not making excuses for that Miami team but Wade was only prime level that first year. Context matters when we're having this discussion and n----s looking solely at 2-5 record and nothing else as way to diminish his greatness is dumb to me. But yeah it's a loaded discussion for sure.

I agree, wrote something similar to that the post above. That's the greatness of LeBron tho, he makes everyone around him much better than they really are. He's the most complete player this game has ever seen.

The thing I respect the most about Jordan is not his legacy and play, but his GOAT sneaker brand which makes my life so much better and happier

My heart says Bron finally brings a ring home to Cleveland but seeing GS come back from 3-1 is giving me pause.

So after our discussions of players records in the finals, I went I to basketball reference to compare teams by the numbers and laughed out loud when I looked at the '06-'07 Cavs team.
I'll say no more other than to say please follow the link here:
    http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXteamsXXCLEXX2007.html&t=all_per_game&t=all_per_game

    PS:
@Kold @Bliss I will say that the notion that LeBron hasn't had the help that Kobe and MJ had is false. Especially considering he's supposed to make everyone around him so much better. After reviewing the numbers, Kobe's '07-'10 teams weren't nearly as talented as the '11-'14 Heat teams or the Cavs teams from the past two years.

The Cavs barely got past a team that had a fake Ben Wallace.

And now they're going up against one of the best teams in history, with J. R. Smith and Richard Jefferson playing big time minutes.

They ain't winning this series fam
