I was thinking that it was on par with LBJ ...

But at the same time we can't hate on KD cause he wants to win...

Maybe he didn't like playing with Russ, maybe he wanted to leave cause they didn't get along... Maybe he like Kerr as a coach...

I think that as a competitor you want to play the best and beat the best... Maybe he thinks this is his best chance to win and beat the rest of the league.

the more i think of it tho this is not as bad as i thought it was at first

yes for this season we can basically forego the regular season but then after that i really feel like the NBA is just going to start building like as many super teams as possible ...

like Westbrook, Cousins, Harden all going to the Lakers ... couple more stars going to the Celtics ....

so basically the NBA is going to become like a 6-7 team league in the big markets which have all the superstars and the rest of the teams would be s---

that would actually be pretty d--- exciting, but then the question would be why not just cut down the league to less teams .. and then less regular season games ...

so many questions

except one is definitely not enough for KD like it was for Lebron when he returned home to Cleveland and became the saviour...

edit - even when lebron won two in miami people were still waiting for the "not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7" - it wasn't till this cleveland one that now people are finally satisfied and ready to put him in the conversation of being a GOAT... now thats what will be expected of KD now with this super team - going on a crazy run of championships not just 1 or 2 ...

thats the difference - is lebron had that option to return home and "secure his legacy"... I don' think KD will be returning to OKC lol

Well Oklahoma was never home to OKC so he shouldn't feel like he owes them anything like lebron felt he owed his home state. Also lebron was greatness before he came to Miami, validated his greatness with 2 rings. This last ring was just the cherry on the top for the top 5 oat time spot but it wasn't necessary for his individual legacy like winning at least one in the first place was. He's just a hero now because it seems he did the "right" thing when he was doing fine all along. Also the warriors expectations were always championship or bust with or without KD. That doesn't change but people will try to paint KD as a villain which will just make me root for him even more. But when I say peopl that won't care any more I'm talking about people who value winning and respect legendary players not people who just hate because it's fun.

if you think about it tho this has already happened a couple times in the NBA since the Celtics big three ... I'm not talking about the actual formation of the super teams but the overreaction that the team is TOO GOOD and would just win the championship too easily ... (which turns out to not be true)

> then the heat - didn't win in the first season, lost to a true TEAM, the mavericks

people think the teams are just going to win easily but they never do ... cause like all sports basketball is not played on paper its a team game and theres so many factors that go into winning

in the end the Celtics who started it all was the only that actually won it the first season ... we shall see
