All these years of stanning Thugger and putting dudes on him got me feeling happy for the recognition he finally gets. Like I said million times before - artist, not a trap rapper.

Wentworth is wild. It's like Orange is the New Black but more of a drama. It's better imo.

People are missing the point and ignoring the real issues with Kaepernick not standing for the national anthem. They say he's a disrespectful cry baby and how could he be oppressed with how much $ he makes a year, etc...He's being for a voice for the voiceless and bringing awareness to the unjust treatment of people of color. He has every right not to stand for the national anthem. The people who are mad are being way too butt hurt and are missing the point of his actions and words

    The way Conservatives think...

People who make (constructive) criticisms about the US and want to improve how minorities are treated = disrespectful pieces of trash who need to shut up and fall in line

It's also f----- up how people see the American Flag as a symbol of the military and not American citizenry is strange.

The military is basically war/killing machine, that ultimately does no good. That's the last thing our flag should represent.

    Good point

It's our tax dollars that go to the military and the police. So many innocent ppl have lost their lives due to the actions of both. Wanting things to improve and trying to end all the pointless blood shed is the most patriotic way to think. Some people just don't get it

Apparenty Cole sampled a Reggae song called Dry Cry by Sizla for a song off the next album.

Could give a hint as to the musical direction he's going in if thats true.

thats whats crazy tho is we were speculating cole would go in a reggae direction like way back since he started growing his air out like right after FHD ... WAY BEFORE these island vibes even showed up anywhere let alone the mainstream ... truth is our hunch was probably right and he was in fact making reggae influenced music ... imagine that

but now unfortunately he probably has a bunch of songs with that reggae influence that will just end up being scrapped now

    smh

back to square 1 for album 4 lol

A couple of reggae influenced songs on the new LP would be alright. Not sold on a whole album full of reggae styled songs. Reaching out to a few crazy talented hip hop producers (Jake One, Organized Noize, Dahi, Mike Will) (and a few tracks produced in house by Cam O'bi, himself, Gilmore and Elite) and sticking to raw hip hop production would be the best idea.

EDIT: I left out Vinylz. He and Cole need to get together and make one more crazy b-----r on par w/ TO2C for the next LP.

The dancehall/reggae influence started before the FHD tho, Mustard (read: producers from who he buys beats from), Nic Nac and those crossover hip hop/pop producers popularized it, and then Drake took it to another level with Hotline Bling and then Controlla and One Dance and now everyone is doing it. Cole would've been late anyway. Hope he stays off that, I wanna hear something new and original from him for the first time ever if that's even possible to expect from him.

I just hope Cole doesnt bring a depressing vibe on this album, it seems like hes going back to his born sinner era type of mentality which is a shame as I thought he was past that with the making of FHD. I honestly think some personal/family s--- has got him this down, I don't buy it thats its just down to police Brutality.

Also this is kind of my own personal theory but I think deep down Cole himself is tired of this whole homeless look/gives no f--- image that hes been rocking with for the last couple years, but this image/personality is what has gotten him to his highest level of success so far with FHD so he's afraid of switching it back to how it was before, in case he doesnt reach the same levels of success with the next album.

Also the delay for new music might be because of the whole Tidal situation and maybe waiting for Apple to buy them out.I think people are overlooking and forgetting about that Tidal contract he signed. I think it would really hinder the success and impact of the next album if it was a Tidal exclusive and Cole knows it, he's a man of the people and limiting his fanbase into listening to the album only on tidal would just damage his brand. Beyonce and Ye couldnt even get out of having their albums not be a Tidal exclusive and their not even on Rocnation, so I'm sure for Cole it would be even harder to get out of that Tidal contract

And I don't buy that s--- IB said recently at all about the Black Friday line, when Cole said he was dropping the album in February. IB just brushed it off like it was nothing, saying they knew it would be a stretch when they first heard the line, but then why say it?

I specifically remember Cole saying in an interview he will never announce an album
prematurely again after Born Sinner originally failed to drop on January 28th. So why do it again? Especially now since he's much more succesfull and has a bigger fanbase.

In my opinion i think an album was completed, or almost close to being completed, when he said that line then something happened to stop it from being released.

Whether it was a dispute with Tidal/Rocnation, or whether he decided to scrap it after hearing the Jamacian sounding wave begining to dominate mainstream (if his album indeed had a reggae vibe to it). Or if some s--- went down in his personal life (I saw a link to a thread on LSA where somebody said Melissa had a misscarridge earlier this year).

Obviously just speculation with no real evidence to it but I believe it had to be something big to stop him from dropping/completly scrapping an album that was due in Feb. But since Dreamville are so secretive we will never get the real explanation.

Cole not wanting to release on tidal is prolly the most accurate reason for the delay. His whole thing is to not be controlled by corporations etc.
