I don't wanna see people speaking negatively of violent protests if you have nothing to say about violent public policies and laws being put in place to facilitate the oppression of people of color. Protest and rioting is the language with which the unheard garner attention. In NC specifically, lawmakers and politicians have ignored them, subjected them to resegregated schools, refused Medicaid expansion, disproportionally policed them in the war on drugs, subjected them to bad credit and bad jobs, and deported undocumented immigrants while destroying families. All of that is violence against the community. So don't criticize a "violent protest" when you fail to criticize violent public policy. These people have been treated like s--- by the people tasked with serving them, whether politically or by the police. They deserve to be angry, and violence can be expected.

@johnny waverock Some of the violent protestors were attacking innocent people on the streets though. No need for that to happen. And destroying innocent people's vehicles = unnecessary, too. The innocent ppl walking or driving by had NOTHING to do with officers not doing their jobs. Take the frustration out a different way...through peaceful protests and helping get the right legislation passed to fix the issues in NC communities. Take the MLK approach and keep fighting by voicing your concerns and protesting peacefully and push and push to get the right laws in order

Sure I agree to a degree. And I know where your politics are and that you've been critical of politicians and lawmakers in the past so you understand what's really going on. But, I'm speaking on people who are silent when people are being oppressed and then criticize them when they react violently to their oppression. If you're going to open your mouth to speak on these issues, know the dynamics surrounding them. Of the rioting is the first thing you're finding wrong, your uninformed and unfit to judge the situation. Obviously acting against innocent bystanders is bad. But let's levy judgement equally.

Also, don't use MLK as a counter example to rioting.
