    Lmao it's the same sound b. But idgaf anyway. J. Cole is not for me anymore even if he drops FNL 2, I realized that when my CD came and I put it on and thought why the f--- am I listening to this, I don't even feel like it. I outgrew that s---. Not just Cole, but that type of music, those rappers. Before I listened something that would compliment my mood so that "struggle" and "inspirational" s--- was always first in line. Now even if I feel like that I won't listen to it. Nowadays I listen to "how-I-want-to-feel" s---, not "how-Im-felling" s---. That was just maturing process for me I guess.

    Never suggested it did, but it does support my claim that artistically, the Migos > J. Cole

    Which is fair, but I was speaking to Cole's success in relation to tpk's post calling for Cole to promote his album more.

    Yup, that would be an inaccurate portrayal. But more problematically, it would suggest that Young Thug isn't a more than capable songwriter when in actuality, he may be the best in the genre.

    My gripes with Cole are that he's a mid artist, and nothing he has done since his studio debut supports the contrary. I did overgeneralize his fans, but I was speaking to his market success.

    In the same thought train, Drake can continue to drop 6/10 albums like Views and be a singles artist like he has become, and still enjoy unprecedented levels of success. Because he's a hit maker, and commercially his subpar albums will continue to break records as people will continue to eat up his hits. Views is a disaster without Hotline Bling, Controlla, and One Dance.

    i definitely see both sides of this argument tho

    i have said before that i don't discriminate and listen to whatever type of music I'm feeling like, might be migos/young thug one second might be cole the next (just said this a couple days ago actually)

    i have said before that i feel maybe i have started to outgrow cole a lil bit, mainly due to his going ghost and being fed up with his bs, but also due to his actual output ... although still high quality and although he has advanced his sound to a certain extent, he still has yet to take that next step

    don't get me wrong at the same time i would still consider him my favourite artist, he will always hold a special place in my heart no h--- and he was for sure the artist i was the biggest fan of for the longest time, and i will probable forever check for him and his releases

    at a certain point though there just come a time when you've got to move on if someone is refusing to advance in any way or take themselves to the next level ... like a girlfriend who s----s just getting stale with and you can't see the rest of your life with her, or a friend who's just still on some childish s--- and you know that its time to grow up ...

    unfortunately i feel that is just the place many of us are at with cole ...

    when we were huge fans of him we were dreamers on the come up and so was he, now a lot of us have grown up and realize some dreams are just not meant to come true (like for me making the NBA lol) and really trying to make it in the real world while cole has already made it yet he still rapping like he on the come up ...

    time to advance, to grow, to elevate ... make timeless s--- that will last for generations, not some s--- that appeases your fans for a year while you go ghost

    dude I'm sorry but theories don't even peak my interest anymore, i could care less ... knowing cole could care less to even make a d--- short film of any sort for any of his d--- albums that deserve it

    Yall do and say the most when it comes to cole.. Its music n----s, either you f--- with it or not.

    I just want this man to drop a video to deja vu, and give a interview like a normal artist. n----s wanna hear his perspective on s---, i wanna know bout the album from him, his thoughts on this country right now, his reason behind false prophets etc
