Pitchfork s--- all over Ed Sheeran's new album. 2.8/10 wow. You have to appear super artsy...but a lot of the time the artists they like come across as faux artsy...with "unique" production, over the top peacock style with a "peculiar" voice...that's what some critics eat up. It's like they look for artists to be cartoon characters.

What's amazing about him is that he had surgeries on both knees in the summer. He almost doesn't have weakness in his game, except his jumpshot is still little bit off sometimes. In a year or two once he gets that falling on nightly basis, he's gonna be unstoppable. Hope he stays injury free.

Castle on the Hill is also great. And I think Perfect is one of the best songs in his discography. The song dedicated to parents, "Nancy Mulligan" is catchy and the song "Supermarket Flowers" about his mom is really really sweet. It's on par with his first two albums. That Pitchfork review is just absurd.

To be fair, 2.8 is an abysmal rating, and p4k is awful. But, this album wasn't as strong as his first two imo. His songwriting on tracks like new man was sooo bad. And songwriting is usually his strength. There isn't any tracks at the level of a thinking out loud, or photograph, and there's no real step forward you know? I love ed, but I was let down with this project. I'd give it a 5/10

Yeah I agree with @Nav Bhatia. I enjoyed Multiply a lot more. I can appreciate the ballad tracks that he does but there are too many on here and not really his strength. Personally would have preferred more songs like Eraser but thats not gonna fly with most of his fanbase. Just find a lot of this quite mediocre. Still doing absurd things in the charts tho, the whole album has taken up most of the top 20 singles in the UK
