    Ok so here goes.

First of all he came on like 2 and a half hours after doors opened smh Cole. The DJ was trash too so those 2 and a half hours felt like 5 hours. Cole finally came on and sat down, talked about the album, why its called KOD. A lot of the info which is already out there. He said the letters came to him before the actual 3 sub titles (kidz on drugz, king overdosed and k--- our demons) and how he was meant to drop on black friday but wasn’t satisfied with 3 songs so was perfecting them up until now. He said he only finished mixing the album last week.

Now onto the actual album, the intro KOD is a standout, y’all already heard the snippets. Straight b-----r. He used the migos flow a lot during the album. A lot of the album had very similiar production if i’m honest, especially during the middle part. Almost sounded like one long song. Most of the production was a very scarce, just a simple melody in the background with growling 808’s and the same trap hi hat through most of the songs. Nothing was really overproduced like on previous albums, all quite simple production, and there wasn’t really any jazz production at all like on 4YEO or any high pitched sample beats like on previous albums.

Also he chopped and screwed his vocals on a lot of the songs, thats up to personal taste if you enjoy that style or not. There’s no features, he was singing the hooks on all the songs or there was a chopped and screwed hook. There was another b-----r in the middle of the album called Count It Up, sounded a little like Yo Gotti Rake It Up. There was a song about taxes which was cool, him talking about how its 2018 and he wants an app on his phone for him to choose were his taxes get donated to. There was a song about his mom near the end which was dope too, real raw, almost like 03 adolescence type raw, but the verse kind of extended on what he was rapping about in Apparently, how he felt guilty being in college while his mom was at home doing drugs and dealing with heartbreak, he went into a lot of detail on that one.

The official outro to the album is called Window Pains, it was real dope but cant remember too much on it. Then the last song on the album he confirmed is an intro to another project, its called 1985. He said it will be on this album but its leading up to some other s--- which he didnt talk about. Production wise it sounded completely different to anything else on the album, you can tell its for a different project. It was almost like a boom bap beat instead of 808’s, the drums reminded me a bit of the Zendaya track. Content wise it was like Everybody Dies part 2 but in more detail. He wasn’t going at Kendrick or nothing like I see some people speculating lol. He was going at these mumble rappers who just rap about drugs and s---, nobody in paticular and it wasnt really like a diss track, he was kind of just giving them knowledge. Saying how they should buy a house instead of spending money on chains and cars cos they wont be here in 5 years time, and how they should focus on touring as thats where the money is. He ended the song by saying all these mumble rappers will be on love and hip hop in 5 years time lmao

Overall its kind of hard to give an opinion or comparison just off first listen, its definitely better than 4YE0 in my opinion but i didnt like that album anyway, not sure if its better than FHD though. There was no real radio songs either, no catchy hooks that could potentially be a hit, definetly not no Work Out, Power Trip, or even a DeJa Vu on this album. He could have broke up the similar production style in the middle of the album but its whatever. There was definetly at least 3-4 bangers you could play in the whip with your homies without losing your aux cord privileges. First listen i’l give it a solid 7.5/10. It definitely doesn’t sound like any previous Cole album, just cos of the use of trap drums, the migos flow, chopped and screwed vocals and barely any boom bap beats. I don’t think its like “d---” cos that had a lot of varied production with different styles while this definitely stuck to a more cohesive sound.

The KOD track or Count it up has the most radio potential. Y’all already heard KOD so up to yall if you think its single worthy or not. Count it up song he was literally just repeating “count it up” a bunch of times lmao.

When you hear the song/verse about the taxes app and the love and hip hop line at the end of window pains yall know i actually went to the show, if any of yall don’t believe me.

Seems like Cole produced the majority of it based on henny saying it starts to sound repetitive. Confirmed just a regular a--- Cole project.
