I think it will age much better than 4YEO, but we will have to see how it ages against FHD. It has those couple hit songs like FHD had, so it should age just as good or better.

FHD aged so well some thought it could win the Grammy over TPAB. I think KOD will age just as well due to the message and the support behind it so far.

I wonder depending on this success of KOD if cole would push back the second project. Even though he’s already put a time stamp of this year on it through 1985

Spotify hasn’t officially released its streaming totals yet, but data from the streaming service’s global chart says KOD was streamed 36 million times in the US in the first 24 hours. That may or may not be accurate, given how the numbers for The Weeknd’s latest EP were handled. With Apple Music expected to pass Spotify in users in the US sometime this summer, it’s likely more and more records will fall as Apple’s growing dominance in the world’s largest music streaming market continues to increase.

Cole basically took the blueprint of how trap beats are made and applied it to his own sound. There isn't much going on in the highest of frequencies >3000Hz. He cut of a lot of high end of an instrumentation to give it that atmospheric and vibey feeling. Added also a decent amount of reverb to it. That opened up a lot of space for the vocals. If you put the songs on lowest volume, you will hear the vocals are the loudest, followed by hats, kick then snare, and then you'll barely hear the instrumentation. That's how trap beats are mixed, except 808s/bass there are really boosted or distorted to give you energy, whereas here they are more laid back to just compliment everything, which also allows the brass section he used on some songs (sax and trumpets) to be heard despite having a lot of high end removed, cause high end gives a character to those type of instruments. What he did with production here also compliments the theme of the album so that's one of the main reasons why I like it.

If it does come out this year, I hope it comes out towards Nov or Dec. I want to live with this album for a while. Plus that Nas album, ye album, and Cudi &Ye album. Then I would be ready for another project maybe by end of year or early Jan before his birthday.

How is Cole 5 albums in and still gets under shipped. If anything the label should be shipping more cos Cole is one of the few major artists left who’s fans buy a lot of physical CD’s.

Conspiracy theory but I think Interscope really doesn’t want him to outsell d--- first week lol. Kendrick is their golden child.
