I played SremmLife two times more than Tetsuo & Youth + B4.Da.$$ together. All I'm listening to the last 7 days, bangers on top of bangers on top of bangers

Dope production. But their voices annoy me. Sound so screechy and underdeveloped. I can listen to 'em in small doses.

I feel you. I have stretches when I just listen to some ignorant s--- for a few weeks, depending on how I'm feelin :idk: But yea, the production is A1 and it drives this album, Mike Will could win a Grammy again.

Edit: I was delusional for 2 years and thought this fa---- has a Grammy. He has a few nominations tho :laff:

My brother, huge Cole fan, on Cole not releasing anything yesterday: "oh well, he did just release an album."

We can't get mad at Cole for not dropping anything. He's still getting headlines off the album and interviews. No need to panic.

Max Martin, guy who produces for Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift will probably win. Mike Will should've been nominated. Probably next year :idk:

Word, Martin killed it. Mustard should've been too IMO. Dude had 8 records at one point in the Billboard Top 100. Crazy when you think about it.

If I'm being honest I never thought Cole would be as big as Drake. And Drake is a different kind. Don't get me wrong they both make life music and they have a lot of similarities but Cole will never reach Drake's level of popularity without making A LOT of hits and I don't think he can make hits like Drake. I do think he will always compete with him when it comes to qualify and he's still gonna have hits regardless. That's all that really matters him being himself and him being the best Cole. The same way Nas never made more hits than Hov but is still as respected in hip hop (even more in some cases).

Cole could never reach Drake's level of mainstream success, no matter what he does ... for some reason Drake just had it from the beginning of his career and it never left him ... I guess Cole's just too much of a stereotypical rapper for that, maybe one day he can reach Jay-Z's level where the mainstream media talks about him every once in a while, but he will never be Drake in terms of getting played on pop radio amongst pop songs like its nothing ...

AND EVEN IF HE COULD i think the point cole is trying to make is that HE DOESNT WANT TO ... he's realized that he barely even wants the fame that comes with being a top level rapper / B-list celebrity, so why would he would want what comes with being a mainstream celebrity

So where do we see Cole's career going then? If he doesn't want his star to rise further by pursuing hits and jumping on crazy remixes (which is why I'm assuming he didn't jump on the buzz yesterday), is he just gonna be happy with making an album once every couple years and make sure it affects the people. I see him more as a humanitarian tbh, rap could become a sidenote over time :idk:

Cole could've been close tbh :idk: Lotta failed opportunities. But it is what it is, stars were aligned for drake. Everything he touches is a hit and this bar is the truth "They'll still play it though, cause it's that new Drizzy drake that's just the way it goes." Also, I think born sinner era did more damage to coles career than good, but it's good he realized that the FHD image works best for him personally and publicly.

Cole has improved quality wise and status wise each studio album. Drake is bigger, but Cole is a better rapper and his music resonates more on a personal level with people.

yeah I agree about drake but Cole's album sales say otherwise :kobe:we're forgetting that born sinner outsold a Kanye album, think Cole's not even giving it the respect it deserves nowadays

And it has surpassed the supposedly "legendary" Kendrick Lamar "i" music video in views.
