Authoritarian d-ck, Word police... This is why I'm not even gonna bother debating this with you because you're privileged enough that this is about word policing for you but for me this is about fighting for my life.

I’m on the front lines of sticking up for the human rights of everyone, @something. I’m a fighter for people no matter what race, sexuality or class people are in. I’m with you on fighting racism and police brutality.

You don’t seem to understand that singing along to lyrics at a concert is pretty god d--- harmless. I do not use the N word in everyday conversations and I know the history and meaning of the word. White people who are appreciative of a black artists work and enjoy their music and singing their lyrics doesn’t equate them to being evil and racist. I don’t understand why you can’t see that point.

I thought it was crazy kendrick called the white girl up there to perform that song with how much he said n----- in it. He basically set that girl up lol..

Personally I've never experienced a white person saying n-----. idk how i would react to it. I wouldnt take it that serious though, it's just a word lol.. and n----- aint the same as n----, way different s---.

    Kendrick take a L for tgat s---

The thing with Kendrick wasn't the first time it has happened with him so idk what he was expecting. I'm black and I don't use that word, I really think we need to stop using it altogether. But with the way rap is going, pretty soon these guys who clearly aren't black will start saying it and these coons (I'm looking at you, Akademiks) will defend them. I'm sure a lot of white, Asian, Spanish, etc use the word regularly, they just apologize when caught in public to be pc. That's one gripe I have about Cole, he uses the n word and b----/b------s waaaay too much

That’s something I’ve never done and would never think of doing

But apparently I’m the second coming of David Duke according to @something because I don’t think it’s a huge deal for people to sing along to lyrics at a concert

Thats part of my point. Thats not for you to decide. Who are you to tell me what is harmless to me. There has been studies that show that the trauma of racism has been passed down thru generations epigenetically. It might not be that deep for you but it is for me because I'm the one that wears this skin and has to deal with everything that goes along with it. That is why I said f--- you in my initial response because you said its not a big deal and you really have no right to make that determination.

This conversation has been very interesting to read and i understand both sides of the argument as a black man from the hood i would prefer if non black people dident say it at all no matter the context. Im sure where all aware racism is systemic and that word is part of a bigger picture i mean i have friends who have died and friends who are serving life in jail whos lives have been significantly affected by systemic racism i know it may be hard to understand if your not black but everyday is a struggle as a result of the experiences a lot of us have had in life as a result of racism so anything that is somewhat in the grey area should be steared clear of. I understand that guy something came at you guys in here the wrong way i apologise for that but understand that reaction comes from a place of intense pain.

Why i still use the word, well correct me if im wrong if anyone is more informed than me but i believe the word was initially used as a compliment or a word of endearment before slavery amongst blacks in certain countries, different variations of the word exist if you look at latin language its in there. Anyway it has then been taken and changed into a slur down the years mainly at the fault of slave owners. If i am a liberated man who is no longer a slave i can use the word that was once used to describe my people positively, if i cant am i truly free as then this is something that has been taken away from me. Non blacks cannot use it as when they "discovered" black people they have always used the term as a slur meaning its only ever been a slur to non blacks, so if you say it its like your saying something wild whereas if a black person says it depending on the context it can be a compliment or a slur.

    https://nowtoronto.com/music/features/is-it-okay-for-white-fans-to-sing-the-n-word-at-concerts/

Chicago rapper G Herbo is more resigned. “I know for a fact that people be at my shows saying n-----. There’s no way around it,” he told Rap Radar. “[White] people don’t mean any harm when they’re doing that. Some of those people really embrace our culture.”

Schoolboy Q takes it one step further. At last year’s NXNE, the L.A. rapper actually encouraged fans to sing the n-word along with him.

“I’m not telling you to go say ‘n-----’ after this, but this is a rap show,” he instructed the crowd. “I want y’all to participate.”
