    @Head Bussa thoughts on andrew Yang? US politics are always way more interesting than canadian politics, so I always try to look up policies and listen to debates/interviews. I dont think I've seen someone as smart as Yang before. Dude is brilliant and has a ton of great policies. I like him more than Bernie right now.

    UBI is good idea but they way he wants to implement it would hurt the social safety net. The safety net is needed for people in rough times.

    Isn’t his freedom dividend an opt-in program? From what I understand if you’re receiving other benefits already that exceed 1k then you don’t have to go the UBI route.

    Yeah it is opt-in but the safety net would be underfunded because of funding for the UBI. Like that guy said in the tweet it’d be better to build on safety net programs to help folks bounce back. Also raising the minimum wage, providing Medicare For All would help. People wouldn’t pay a private tax of premiums, co-pays, deductibles or have outrageous hospital bills anymore. Families would net save $$$ under Medicare For All.

    And study after study shows Medicare For All is cheaper over ten years than the current system we have in America.

    UBI is a good idea as long as the safety net wouldn’t get slashed. Yang’s plan would underfund those needed programs

    I also forgot to mention tuition free college would help people. Student loan debt is out of control
