This is what I’m expecting. Seen a couple places refer to it as a mixtape. Interscope/Dreamville would’ve had them correct it if they wanted to. I think it’s probably going to be something in the style of Logic’s Bobby Tarantino albums. Commercial mixtapes, original production but no real concept. Just having fun. Let’s hope.

100%. Dudes (ya Uncle Luke I’m talking to you) act like the only person that gets paid off J. Cole’s work is Jermaine Cole. All that revenue goes to sooo many different companies and so many different people. Interscope, Dreamville, Roc Nation, the promoters that do the shows, the cities that host the venues, the people that work at the venues. Someone’s gotta pay the janitor at the Interscope office. Where do you think the money comes from? It’s literally never ending.

Not to mention, Cole employs his literal friends and family. You think he wants to stiff these people? Like Ced, for example, is his childhood friend and works on the tours. You think he wants to prevent him from making a living just cuz a bunch of people on the internet are pissed he’s not dropping when THEY want him to. Most of us have been posting on various Cole boards since ‘09. Unless you were a toddler when this s--- started, you’re grown. Use your brain before y’all post this dumb s---.

Well yeah but I mean everyone's been put on hold since the pandemic. I know someone mentioned drake but even he pushed his album back and back, if Kendrick or Cole were to drop no matter what it would be looked at as their major drop. Cole and Kendrick can't put out a random mixtape like Drake can because of how much they're backed into the corner of producing quality over quantity unless they do it in an untitled unmastered way or a Lil ep

I like this point about him and Kendrick being backed into a corner because of their past work. This is especially true for KDot cuz his discography is flawless.

Cole too, tho, after FHD. Hopefully, between ROTD3, the features and now The Offseason he loosens up a bit. His best s--- is his most effortless s---. He’s so talented but he’s his own worst enemy the way he can overthink things.

You mentioning the bestie boys made me remember, big daddy Kane mentioned Cole briefly during his breakfast club interview a few days ago.. y’all know I be watching all the interviews from the OGs in rap and catch everything lol

but I never really listened to bestie boys s---, I have been listening to a lot of 80s hip hop tho. I wanna dive deeper into it. KRS one is my favorite from back then. A lot of rap fans love the 90s , but them 80s dudes put it down fr, EPMD, Kane, krs one, Rakim, public enemy, that s--- was hard.
