I kind of wish we didn’t get the Lewis st singles last year and just had them for the album. This s--- still top 2 album, this and FHD. I can see myself going back to this more over time like FHD, tbh I don’t go back to any Cole album other than FHD.

Cole is such a rap nerd. No one else would’ve thought to mix Cam’ron and Lil Jon on a song lmao. I just know Cole was having a huge fan moment when he made that song

Pride is the devil is the f---ing one!!! Fav song. Everything about it is perfect and can see it getting video treatment along with My Life.

One thing I wish SO MUCH is that 100 mil had a Jay feature. It would have made the song in the perfect category. Also Applying pressure all that talking at the end was too long and end up skipping now.

Loved Sunset and find it well executed
This mumble and melodic flow is something he was experimenting
And on that track it gives this sense of tragedy feeling and as his flow progress it becomes great ("OUT OF THE CONCRETE WAS A ROSE AND WINDOWS WAS COLD")

This project is solid. “Pride Is the Devil” is def one of my favorite Cole songs in recent memory. “My life,” “100 mil,” “Interlude” are all cool too. Tbh he can keep the last 3 joints on here though. Had me dozing off trying to finish the album.

Project is split into two categories for me.

Songs that are immediately recognizable as Cole songs:

    Applying Pressure
    Punchin the Clock
    Let Go My Hand
    Interlude
    The Climb Back
    Close

Songs where he’s experimenting in some way:

    95 South
    Amari
    My Life
    100 Mil
    Pride is the Devil
    Hunger on Hillside

On the first listen I was soo hyped up that the recognizable ones hit the hardest. My ears and brain were just ready for it.. Literally every other song hit the second time around. This is what I was looking for from him. I LOVE dour, laid back Cole better than most. I love Truly Yours and 4YEO. But his discography is heavily weighted to songs like that. This gives it some diversity. It’s the first project that feels fun and free. He’s always had a IDGAF attitude but I never really believed him. This was the first time that I did. Proud of dude. Great album. Amazing addition to the discography.

Edit: also this was exactly the right tone that the people need right now. Last year f---ing s----d. Nobody wants to hear about some multimillionaires COVID woes. This is that come back to life s--- for the people. Let’s have a fun summer type s---

Yeah he really did it. Just an album where he wasn't trying to make a single or restrict himself to a concept. Just rapping rapping, and he mixed it so well with the story telling where he's not just bragging all the time.

Was kinda surprised that after George Floyd he didn't use this album to speak more about police brutality and the struggle but that's his lane anyway.

The production crazy and it sounds so crisp and clear in my headphones as well. Cole really got one of the best rap voices, you can hear every word.

Initially was hoping it was longer but it didn't leave me wanting more which some of his last albums did.

This may be Cole’s best Album. Nothing is forced and you can tell he was having fun with this. Floating all over these songs, his energy is on another level - Return of Simba esque.
