The off season and might delete later are Cole’s best albums.. Forest hills driven up there just off it being a classic and a time when it dropped.. but musically I feel the last 2 projects are his best s---..

People don't get that this is where his best music comes from. And is actually kind of the whole point of his music and why he's the hero the world needs right now. There's no world where a reactionary, defensive Cole trying to please everyone produces his best music. He already proved over 10 years ago that it doesn't. That's really the whole point of the Wale verse on False Prophets. Like, my man. Try living like this for a second and watch what it does for your life and your art. Or "stuck between maybe retiring and feeling like I'm just hitting my prime". That's the whole dichotomy. He never gave less of a f--- about being "J Cole" which was the recipe that created the best "J Cole" music. That's the blueprint he's giving the world.

I know she f--- with cole and she follow dreamville and ib on IG… ib shared her song with Wayne on his story.. dreamville is missing a female rapper, plus she be spitting, she’ll fit right in with them.. I’m still surprised them boys ain’t signed no female rapper yet, the women taking over the game, they the present.. see how they was representing at the bet awards last night.. I seen somebody in a comment section ask why won’t no male rappers there performing lol.. that s--- crazy , cause I peeped that too, majority of these n----s trash in the game lol. Flaujae already turnt she got a following, that’ll just turn her up a bit more and turn dreamville up too, cause ain’t much been going on with them lately, they ain’t signed no new artists in years

My only problem with them, especially MDL, is that the songs are a little incomplete for my taste. I'm a maximalist personally, so this whole era of 2 minute songs just isn't really for me. I agree that the caliber of the songs is up there but outside of The Climb Back there's not really many songs that have long verses, full choruses, bridges etc. Which he just might not be making music like that anymore tbh. Less is more etc. But more is more for me lol.

The Climb Back is the only song in those 2 projects I feel like can be in the top tier Cole category.

I think many more could've gotten there if they were given the full blown album treatment. The Climb Back was originally introduced as a single from TFO. And it sounds like a completed, polished song. Pride is the Devil and Let Go My Hand are pretty close. Punchin the Clock and especially Interlude and Close deserved more attention. And for MDL, Trae The Truth is probably the closest thing. Stealth Mode and 3001 really deserved more time.

That's what I would be worried about when putting together TFO over so many years. He's probably made hundreds, maybe thousands of ideas of songs (Might Delete Later lol). How potential classics just never get past the idea stage? Or the one quick verse stage? I'm guessing that the songs from Off Szn and MDL, as well as some feature verses, are just songs that ultimately were deemed not good enough or not within the concept of TFO. There's major potential to overthink it. Dr. Dre Detox it. He's gotta put the album out.

Yeah he needs to release as soon as possible at this point before it gets too late & he starts to overthink it (more than he already has).

I think a good way to prevent the expectations problem & satiate peoples desires across the board is to drop multiple volumes over the course of a period of weeks/months etc. This would be an unprecedented situation in the industry for a retirement plan that I can think of so would be good marketing in itself. If he doesn’t do something like this I can see him falling into despair & never releasing anything from it like Dre did.

Kind of like We Dont Trust You? Or like Nas Magic/KD? I'll definitely take what I can get and would be down for a really long a--- album or multiple volumes if the quality is there. I would be let down if those volumes had a bunch of incomplete or short songs like we've been talking about. My preference, and I hope they've long ago done this, is that they've picked like 12-16 songs or song archetypes and have just been refining those songs over the years. Trying out different parts, features, audio clips, mashing songs together, beat changes, different mixes. Whatever. Kind of like how MBDTF was put together or a Dr Dre album. We've got the bones of the album, now lets blow each song out and make it the best it can possibly be. Nobody really makes albums like that anymore and Cole or otherwise we need one bad.

Cause that album won’t on that the fall off era post cole posted some years back… if he has another project , I say drop again late this year… then drop the fall off summer next year.. drop it just like he did might delete later.. just a lil tease before release, no big push… he got to go all out for the fall off tho
