Peekaboo @Ripper Roo just face it, Kendrick’s voice is annoying as f--- and hard on the ears to a lot of people. It is what it is! Don’t get so offended.

The best albums I’ve heard this year are from Gary Clark Jr and Jack White. GNX doesn’t even come close. Redman has been dropping better s--- than Kendrick lately.

A lot of hip hop sucks nowadays. GNX is annoying to me. He can’t and won’t ever make bangers as good as the ones on If You’re Reading this it’s too late no matter how hard he tries. He can’t and won’t ever evoke emotions like Cole has done on FNL, 4YEO or FHD.

Tyler and Kendrick have a huge nerdy, dweeby Fantano type following. I’m just telling you the truth. They’re not real hip hop fans. It’s the bells and whistles. The extra “artsy” s--- they do. They think it’s so trailblazing. Look at me with a straight face and say you’d rather listen to “This d-ck ain’t freeeeeeeeee, I mean, babyyyyy” in a whiny a--- voice over something like 95 South or 3001 by Cole. Or if you seriously think Sticky is a hip hop b-----r that hip hop heads are playing. C’mon man, you can’t be serious. That’s for the fake artsy nerd rap crowd.

I don’t give a f--- about “hip hop heads”. Most of the time they are pretentious know-it-alls who make listening to hip hop a miserable experience. They can like that s---…but then absolutely s--- on others. They’re the modern gatekeepers and control the narrative. They’re not true hip hop fans. Big Fan of Kenny but most of his earlier music. Some good songs on his newer albums but GKMC and Section 80 still my favorites from him. He got a little less raw in his music and experimental with his newer stuff and i'm not really a fan of that

I like peekaboo, but listen to it too much and it will get quite annoying. However, I still think it works for Kendrick but definitely wouldn’t work for Cole. Certain things work for certain rappers and others don’t. It’s like how Lil Wayne has bars that can sound fire when he spits them but if someone else delivers them they sound stupid as h---.

People probably would trash Cole for peekaboo because that’s not what they expect from him. That’s partially the same reason grippy was trashed. People have been conditioned to accept this s--- from Kendrick. I have a hard time believing people would praise Kendrick if he did the grippy verse though… that song is all around bad and I don’t think anyone could save it. I can imagine that grippy verse in Kendrick’s voice right now and it sounds awful and cringey just like Cole’s version.

I doubt he will ever go back to Section 80 and GKMC sounds for a whole album. His albums have been getting weirder and weirder ever since. Some people will like the experimentation and some won’t. But I think it is necessary for certain artists to experiment because you will always have those people who complain about all music always sounding the same. Experiments don’t always work but sometimes risks must be taken in order to drive innovation. There will also always be those artists who try to put out the traditional sounds. Kendrick went down a different path.
