    @GKBS there's always that one album track that makes me think the rest of the album could've been more like that. 6 pm in NY is that. s---, last night fell asleep listening and woke to that like wtf am I listening to?

    Alright this is first impressions I've only listened through the tape twice and I like a bunch of songs but it's literally nothing new. I like his 0-100 flow in spurts not for basically a whole mixtape and even though I can vibe with it nothing stands about it as a project and it starts to all sound the same. 6pm, 10 bands, and you and the 6 though>>>>>>

    6PM in New York sh---ed on the whole tape and shows that when he actually tries to really rap he's as great as anyone in the game. Needed more of that.

    With that said I need to give it more listens to form a better opinion, but I'm a little disappointed. Will still be bumping plenty songs for the next few weeks.

    Yup just take this Drake tape for what it is JCN fam, it was a great way to get his name out and if the rumors are true, a middle finger to Birdman.
    You can sense the tension from the rappers this year, but I know Cole ain't gon stand by and watch all this crazy s--- unfold...:kobe:

    And by the way, y'all used to say Cole wasn't hungry on certain projects and I think that's the case here.

    Except for 6pm which is contender for SOTY, Drake honestly doesn't sound that inspired. He doesn't sound that hungry imo just comfortable.

    s--- is SO annoying. All I want is a Drake album full of 6pm, 2am, 5am, and a FEW like No Tellin' and Used To. THEN I would fully ride For Drake like I did back in the day.

    Just an observation, 'only' Kanye pushes the envelope in his music. I can say Kendrick doing a lil something to expand his artistry. But for the most part, most rappers stay in their lane. I can't be mad for him doing what he does because it he does it well. Correct me if I'm wrong....

    I completely agree with you from a sonics standpoint. Kanye is the only one pushing the envelope even The blacker the berry is a hip hop boom bap peat (great one). But my thing is what does Drake have to say at this point? I don't think he said anything that I haven't heard before in a new context or a new way. If you compare this with NWTS, NWTS has so much more under the surface and that's where this tape is lacking based off first two listens.

    EDIT: 6 pm in New York though >>>

    Tbh i think a video woulda been a good thing for him two weeks ago, he's going to be generating very little buzz off of a video when bigger names are dropping full length projects. This s--- is about windows of opportunity and theyre constantly opening and closing.
    There's gotta be a balance to this s---, I definitely don't want Cole to be one of these people that drop something every month. At the same time tho, after dropping a project that was pretty well received it seems like the perfect time to be making moves.

    I guess if it is just a project of "throwaways" so that he could become a free agent, we shouldn't analyse it too deeply.

    Na we analyze every Cole move deeply. But yeah I kinda agree. I think he has some better stuff in the vault but it ain't coming for a while. He wouldn't have gave us 17 tracks if it was. So this what we gonna be talking about for the near future

    Birdman lost the worst out of everyone. Regardless of what you think of Drake and Nicki, they are one of the biggest artists in music right now. He should of just kept Wayne happy and none of this would have happened. MAJOR cash loss soon for Cash Money. No pun intended lol.



    And yeah, at this rate, I'm gonna play 6pm more than this whole tape and it won't be close lol.

    I think that one one line is him joining Jay and Kanye (the throne) not kendrick and ye.

    Just thought about next line and the money trees and blood on the leaves reference though..Driizzzyyyy
