Dope post. I would be wrong to say that Cole wasn't trying to be somewhat deep. But again I believe you're asking for a completely different song when you're saying
"He doesn't say "hey women have layers too and are sometimes a good girl and sometimes a hoe." What i'm trying to say is that without him expressing that women, too, are multidimensional and hypocritical as well it misconstrues the message of the song and the message becomes one of any other misogynistic song"
You're asking for him to justify his hypocritical, misogynistic stance with more depth by humanizing these women, but what I'm saying is that I believe he intends the song to sound to sound like how we hear it. He's analytic, yes but its also ignorant in the same vein as IDFWU is. Like other rappers, he's in a sense as bad as the women he's criticizing in the sense that he's as shallow as they are. That's why its in the Hollywood section of the album. His anaylsis is very shallow in comparison to his verses on Hello when he's talking to to an ex or even his analysis on 03 Adolescence. Like I said to @Narsh I don't believe the song was meant to be as deep as y'all want it to be. I also understand how you could see that as making a song weaker, but I don't think we should expect every rapper to justify every viewpoint or give the whole story in every song because as misogynistic as this song seems its real. These are the type of discussions homies have all the time, and even though its wrong and they are generalizations, i think its very human. In the context of the album, I think it works nicely. As a song by itself, I think your criticism is somewhat warranted.

These last few pages were quite insightful so props to you guys

One thing to take into account is how the subject matter and content correlates to the mood and moment the listener is in. We all have a song that can describe any life situation and serves as either a look in the mirror or a motivator. Those instances really amplify the experience of whatever song you listen to and usually offer a reference point to go back to. Lord knows how many times I've gone back to listen to The College Dropout or Friday Night Lights these past 3 and 1/2 years because of how much I actually can relate to what is being said, regardless of any inconsistency. Music really is incredible

I see your viewpoint. But this is Cole we are talking about here. And after a verse like the last in LAnd of The Snakes, a song like No Role Modelz seems like a backpedal.
Also gotta take into account that we are seeing this song from two completely different point of views.

Been listening to those interviews he did awhile back and man I'm very optimistic he'll come even more correct with whatever concepts he has in store for us in the near future. I saw a lot of glimpses of social commentary on the album that just need to be more consistent lyrically. I'm hoping he can articulate himself better since the ideas he has are sublime, he is in tune of what's going on around the world and it can be a very beneficial cause just to hear more music that encourages introspection and awareness.

Agree 1000000%. If he can zone in and go 100% with his writing and use what he says in all these interviews, he can drop a very powerful album.
