im listening to this kendrick album half way through, i mean its good. i mean..some s--- is throwing me off, idk its hard for me not to like s---, cause i love all genres, but idk maybe ill need more spins..

had to leave that thread before i listen the d-ck riding was on atrocious levels

I prefer listening to FHD but TPAB is the better album if that makes any sense to ya'll.

For me, I just felt it day one. Idk how to explain it. With FHD I felt it, this album doesn't hit the same. I'm sure it's different for everyone though

HMADC from Rap Genius.

This is Kendrick’s take on running into God in the form of a homeless man at a gas station. Throughout the song, Kendrick recounts his interactions and feelings towards the homeless man spanning guilt, sympathy, and resentment.

Kendrick’s selfishness, to which he attributes his success, eventually comes out most in his interactions with the homeless man. At that point, the man reveals himself to be God.

This song highlights Kendrick’s struggle with his fame and the environment that made him. While it may be true that Kendrick paved his own path and arrived at where he’s at on his own accord, his success begs the question of whether he could have made it without having grown up where he did.

But having now made it, what should Kendrick do with his fame and power? Should he continue on the pursuit to more fame and money or should he use his platform to make a statement, give back?

I just spent about 2 hours with this album...

I think that it is a deep and personal. I can't compare it to anything I have heard. I can't listen to the Pac interview. It makes me sad and emotional.

I still feel like both Kendrick and Cole have conversations about what to do with their fame and wealth and positions of power. They want to grow and inspire not just add to the disfunction.

Idk... why but listening to TPAB made me want to listen to this...
