Listening to this "How much a dollar cost?" and it just hit me. Semi-long story coming up
So, my girl works at the court, so she's good friends with the mayor of my lil town. Just like 3/4 weeks ago we were talking to her and she was telling us a story, which at the time seemed like one of those typical corny legends your mexican grandmoms tells you, so I just laughed it off. Keep in mind I'm not a religious person at all neither, but pretty much the story was that they were having some kind of lunch event at her Church and she was in charge of a lot of stuff. As she was getting stuff together she was approached by this man with a plate in his hand, that said he needed food. She was rushing, so in that moment she just said, "Sorry sir, this is a private lunch." The man turned around without saying a word and started to walk away. She said she immediately got this heavy feeling in her chest and not even 5 seconds later she looked up to get the man's attention and the man wasn't there. She said nobody was there other than two other ladies that were helping her, and she asked the ladies if the man had asked them for food and they said they never saw a man. She said that she had been thinking about that a lot. I know what yall are thinking lol. I still kinda cringe at the story too, but hearing this song and such a similar story being told by kendrick at least made me give it a second thought

Anyways, this song is beautiful and real though provoking. My favorite on the album at the moment. I love the way one dollar is literally nothing to a rich kendrick, and probably would make a homeless man's day. Yet, kendrick refuses to give him that dollar because of one thing or another. however, when the homeless man reveals who he really is, the tables turn immediately, and the dollar is no longer a dollar but an entrance to heaven (metaphorically?) which for kendrick would make his whole life (as would a dollar to the homeless man) but reaps the consequence of his own decisions. Deep s--- right there :sad2: kendrick the king:king:

I don't agree with some of you who said Cole played it safe with FHD. The Intro, TOTC, GOMD, Hello, Apparently, St. Tropez and Not To Self, I know I never heard any Cole songs like them before. I tired of hearing How Cole raps about the same subject, Drake, Wale, sean, Meek, Kendrick and others do the same thing. Cole killed FHD! To me best album out at the moment.

He experimented just the right amount. It was also a risk that he put it out with no singles and with very little promo. Plus he performed a song on Letterman that wasn't even on the album. He did things in an unorthodox way with FHD. And it was also bold to go head-to-head against Kanye and he ended up outselling him in the long run.

I'm currently reading A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES by Howard Zinn. It's good so far.

But you're from/reside in London. It may not appeal to you. Sorry. I didn't pay attention to the name. Lol
