Just wanted to ask this, u guys see the word Classic as something on a grade scale?
I mean i hate when i hear people say "oh yes, this s--- is a classic" after the album have been out like 2 days. To me the word classic isnt something you grade an album after you hear it, yes u can say that its amazing, dope or great for example but classic

To me something becomes a classic with time not of how great it is. The most important thing for classic is replay value, it dosent have to be the best album out or best received by the critics.

Its like after u see a movie for the first time that u like, u dont say that s--- is a classic, well i dont.
I have so many movies that i think are classic movies that i know not many other think they are.

Hope this makes some sense lol

Honestly, this is something that has been thrown around a lot in the last few years. I blame Cole, he says that s--- a lot. I agree with you on the time s---.

All Eyez on Me is Classic.

BUT in terms of that grading scale we def have a few albums that are headed in that direction.

Yea i hate when Cole says he got classic mixtapes or calls anything he has done a classic, just cause u say that aint gonna change peoples minds if they think the opposite. An artist should not call their music classic, the should just let the music speak for it self.

Safe to say TWU and FNL are classics, @Seat? They've both been out 4-5 years.

FHD certainly has potential to be a classic in 4-5years

Good point tbh. On Note to Self i think he saying its just jokin around (i.e. Elephant Eyes, confirmed classic), but he does say it a lot in general.

He needs to chill with that.

Yes i do consider them classics but still dont think Cole have to tell everbody else about it, its like he needs confirmation from others to agree with him thats why he says it, he does that often in interviews.

But my point with the post wasent bout Cole or artists callin their music classic, more about fans grading an album as a classic after the like it.

I think quite a few agree with you. I noticed CW: TSS has a 7.8 user rating on Metacritic. Born Sinner has a 7.0. FHD 8.2.

Deff Feel like the main issue was that we heard half the album before hand

In comparison to BS its a much easier listen and displays his abilities more appropriately (yes including Work Out )
BS is also a good album... but u wont catch me listening less im sitting down somewhere by myself w/ headphones in... the musical range is too limited.. although there are some pretty great highs points on the album (LOTS, Power Trip, LND)

At least Cole is putting out his artists projects as official releases and not just mixtapes. I wish Hov did that with TWU and FNL in '09 and '10. What a fuckboi!!
