    It's probably also because I'm obviously not as big on J Cole as Rae. So people are more likely to get defensive. It's that "everyone who doesn't like my favorite artist is a hater" mentality haha, a lot of people are this way so im not tryina throw shade on anyone

    I need to expand my modern day musical pallet in '15. I like Sam Smith and Jack White...other than that I only really bump hip hop and r&b. I've been hearing good things about Hozier. Anyone have any solid modern music recommendations?

    No lie I got salty when I saw the Hopsin comparison, I've had first hand experiences of how they can react but it's really only natural since that's what fans are supposed to do.

    First joint I heard from him was Nirvana about a year ago. Since then I've practically been a Sam Smith Stan. It'd be crazy if Cole got him on a hook.

    Also maybe because you are a male as most members of this site are and you don't share the same viewpoint as the other guys on a topic that benefits men so they may feel a little more upset. As with me, im a girl so it is expected that I will have a differing viewpoint. I know I get more upset when me and girls disagree than if I disagree with a guy because I see a girl as an ally I guess.

    We could make a thread about modern rock, indie/alternative rock etc, or wait for a possible distiction between "rap section" and "other music section", I don't know if it's needed rn (probably not) and if there are other people that would be interested in active threads not about hip-hop. I know there are a few members, but yeah, can't really tell if it'll flop or not. Maybe I'll make a 'modern rock' thread later, probably it'll suffice for now?

    I Don't mind the conversation, i just don't see what the outcome of it can be, if there truly is no different result, other than we are all hypocrites. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not trying to discourage the conversation. I'm just trying to understand why we should have it.
