Breakdown is a top 5 Cole song for me. One of the realist songs he's made.

My hype for the Kendrick X Cole album was at an all time high after I saw this video. :sad1:

That Diggy diss is still hilarious. "You can't diss a n----- if you got him on yo playlist." :hov2:\

You know, in another dimension, J Cole would have gone to St. Johns and immediately met a Jay Z connect. He would have played him Lights Please and Jay would have signed him right away. The label would be behind Cole because of Jay's constant support and the hype building off of A Star is Born. Cole would go on to release the Warm Up as an album (Jay Z & the label cover the sample costs) & the album gets cut down to 16 songs with two as a bonus: Intro - Welcome - Can I Live - Grown Simba - Lights Please - I Get Up - World Is Empty - Dreams - Dollar and a Dream II - Heartache - Get Away - Ladies - Til Infinity - The Badness - Hold it Down - Last Call Bonuses: Losing my Balance & Last Stretch

The album sells 115 K first week and slowly builds up, turning gold after 6 months because of strong word of mouth. He gets recognized for his first classic and for doing so without a lead single. He tries to make a concept album where he tells the story of what success does to you, so he drops Born Sinner, which does well initially at 220K but the casual fans give mixed reviews. His fan base grows with Power Trip and his verses but without the Kanye competition he doesn't push as far.

However, Jay Z takes him on tours, Drake gets hot and features him on a crazy song together that hits billboards. Around the next time, the hype is crazy and Cole promises that he will drop another classic. He gets caught up in the success and he drops Work Out, which his fans criticize. He then drops Mr Nice Watch and people get confused. He drops Cole World Sideline Story to mixed reactions, selling 260K first week and going gold before dropping into obscurity. The fans criticize him for selling out.

For the next two years Cole goes silent faced with all of the criticism and the label backing off. Fans start turning on him and nothing he does feels the same, he feels troubled and so no one hears from him for two years.

Eventually he releases FNL out of the blue, as the first surprise album of this generation (before Beyonce):
Return of Simba - Too Deep for the Intro - Before I'm Gone - Back to the Topic - Villematic (Kanye gives this beat to Cole)- Enchanted (Omen gets a once in a lifetime feature with the Goat) - Blow Up - Higher - In the Morning - 2Face - Cost me A Lot - Premeditated Murder - Killers - See it to Believe it - It Won't Be Long - See World - Farewell

and it sells 180K first week, but is an instant classic so it sells 250K second week, eventually going platinum in a few months. Cole has two classics and is doing very well financially. With this he feels like he's starting to change the game, he returned to his roots and nobody can deny his greatness. He feels liberated from the pressure that he felt and he lets off the Truly Yours series to thank the fans. A year later he drops FHD which sells 400K first week and becomes a near classic but his most successful album, also going platinum. But people are left wondering, where does he go from here after two classics, two gold albums, and two platinum albums? :mjcry::banderas:
