Never been anyone better. No other rapper off the top of my head has consistently dropped quality albums (and by that I mean near classics) in the back half of their career.

The last Hov album that was a classic to me came out in 2007.
50 Cent doesn't have a good album left in his career most likely.
Eminem has been trash for a decade and a half almost now.

we'll see man ... its not like i don't want to like the album you know, i went into it expecting so much (not just cause its dre after 16 years, but cause the response has been so positive) and thats why I'm so disappointed

i guess ill give it a few more chances and see what happens

Word when you start picking up on the smaller nuances and what not, I feel like you'll like it a lot more.

That'll only come with subsequent listens, I feel like I missed out on TPAB some what because I had no desire to give it multiple spins later on. Every time I listen to that album, I know its dope, I just don't feel like hitting replay lol.

I felt the same way and then I decided to bump U the whole way through in my car. That song alone changed my outlook one the whole album

Yeah same, I don't think I've ever been less inclined to re-listen to an album than TPAB. Even though it's probably one of the best I've ever heard :what22:

Yeah his verses and his delivery is what makes me like the album, the jazz influence makes me not want to give it multiple spins though.

Section 80 had jazz influence, but it also had a balance. The ADHD, BDKMV and Money Trees type joints are missed sorely. Those are the type of songs you just randomly go play, and then end up sitting through the rest of the album because they s--- you in.

And honestly the Tupac s--- is more corny than revolutionary to me. It's cool that the whole album is a poem to him, but it's not that dope on subsequent listens. Dre did it a lot better with the Eazy-E interlude.

I would give TPAB a 8/10 because dope bars and concepts aren't enough if I have no desire to play the album front to back 2 months after it drops. I'ma keep listening though, maybe one day it'll just click for me.

Off initial first listen of Compton, I'll say as the Soundtrack only, it f---ing bangs! Dre on production is amazeballs. BUT, it was very hit and miss first couple tracks to get into. I thought Kendrick was 2/3 but Deep Waters is the one. Cube fire. X fire. Game fire. EMINEM f---ing FIRE! I'll listen again this week but I'll properly get into it once I watch the film. If I just thought of this as Detox, it would be unfair and i'll think its overrated.
