    And now is where it falters a little bit: "Dope Man" is more of the tired "Rapper-as-criminal-for-rapping" thing. It was lighthearted on "Rap Game/Crack Game," but it's a little much with the seriousness here.

    That said, Jay was facing serious legal problems at the time (including the Un Rivera case). So it's backed by that context, which kind of justifies it. And the execution is okay. It's fine, it's just not as good as the two songs before or the two/three songs after.

    Exactly. It should a trainwreck but it's kinda fantastic.
