I don't think Encore is bad at all. Only 2-5 bad songs on it. I consider 2. I can let Rain man, a--- Like That or Puke slide. Some classics like Mockingbird, Yellow Brick Road and Lilke Toy Soldiers on it were on the another level.

Em by 8 miles. Jay is a boring rapper who mostly gets carried by great production on his albums. Dont quote/@ me.

And Eminem isn't extremely overrated, he even said himself that if he was black he wouldn't have sold nearly as many albums

He said he'd sold half which is still more than Jay Z probably :D Anyway, that doesn't matter he is the biggest selling artist hip hop has ever seen. That's a fact.

Well first of all sales doesn't = rating.

And no, I don't think Eminem is overrated.

Just as Rakim once said - if Eminem was black - he'd be Ali. I believe he's UNDERRATED due to his skin colour. Because black rap fans and rappers see it as a barrier and annoyance, because of Eminem's popularity and seeing all the teenie bopper fans, he feels like pop and I believe they attribute that to him - mostly - being white and so disregard him more.

Jay-Z can't write a story or enact characters like "Stan". He can't create an entire musical piece and one of the most complete - skillfully written and yet biggest songs ever with "Lose Yourself", he can't express emotion like "The Way I Am"

So if Em was black... MMLP is just an average album? Lol. That argument is so r-----ed. Nobody is listening to Eminem's skin colour. He is who he is because of how he puts words together and the content he has created. "Stan" is still "Stan" whether Em has black or white skin. It's remarkable.

    So what? Lol.

I'm not saying Eminem is the most consistent. Or that he has the best discography.

They're not athletes. I'm not discussing averages here. Because a homerun is not just a homerun, in art... this is art,

With sports - you can compare like that. Because a dunk is a dunk. The points are the same.

I'm talking about talent. Jay-Z at his best is nowhere near as talented or creative as Eminem at his best. It's other worldly different.

1996-2003 Jay had the best run in hip hop history, While Eminem after 02 fell from grace after dropping mediocre projects

Again. I'm not comparing runs or consistency.

    I'm talking about talent.

The thread is about who's better, not who's more consistent.

MMLP ethers anything Jay-Z has ever done.

Jay-Z is not on the same playing field artistically.

    Lmaoo.

"I am whatever you say I am"... 'any criticism of me you have... I will inhibit that as a character - through stories, concepts... themes. I will become that, the ultimate that" and using that basis to provoke society and point out hypocrisies about media, violence and free speech?... (AND on top of all that also be personal. And funny.)

    >>>>>>>>> Jay's stupid street rhymes. Concept-LESS.

Without even getting into the writing or skill level. Or delivery. Or song making. Different level.
