Sep 6, 2015 I watched Minecraft let's plays when i was 12-13, i enjoyed watching them back then This can be both right or wrong. They can get friends from Internet which might sound sad but is actually a very good way to find people who share your interests and talk to them if they have no friends. I have both irl and internet friends, (including my bros here) and actually i've been internet friends with some for 3,5 years, i found them from a video game server and we made a Skype group and it's still alive. Some of those guys are adults already. Also a lot of kids share the interest to gaming, so they can talk about it in school. But it's the parents job to make sure the gaming doesn't make problems with school or health. Gaming doesn't always mean you are fat and antisocial and out of touch with reality I don't care about what Jimmy Kimmel said but death threats are childish as f---.
Sep 6, 2015 its also probably not a very good fad/activity for young kids to be doing I hate to sound like an old person here, but when I was younger, I was usually outside, exercising, stimulating my mind in some way, or just hanging with my friends, as opposed to kids these days who just build entire relationships online and don't experience the same thing. stuff like this is important to young people's development imo, every kid should be building muscles riding bikes, playing basketball or whatever, just being outside in general. i understand its different now because the internet is available3 to kids and so this exposes them to all kinds of things.. i also agree that watching someone play minecraft is probably better than someone getting f----- up on drugs all the time like skippy
Sep 6, 2015 yeah i wasn't necessarily condoning the introverted/lazy behavior, it can and does lead to a plethora of physical and mental health problems and im aware of the potential for harm.
Sep 6, 2015 "When I was young I was outside exercising and riding bikes and no phones had to see where all the bikes were to know where friends are XD" Yeah me too, internet/games didn't affect that. Like everything in life it comes down to balance. like, if you sat there 24/7 watching sports you're gonna get just as f----- up as u would for watching video games 24/7. Just be sensible with it. Remember too that these kids growing up "with technology and no outdoor activity at all" are one day going to google their health problems and realize that they need exercise to remain healthy.
Sep 6, 2015 internet and games 100% effect that because a lot of kids don't understand balance and overdo it. my little brother for example is 100% like that already. probably doesn't get out enough and is addicted to video games. also you are azzuming that some kids are proactive enough to make changes based off of a simple google search. I think you are probably taking what I said a bit extreme, dont know if you are typically this trolly/annoying but what I said makes perfect sense. im sorry if thats all you got out of my post
