Why tf would he say that if he worked with him that's the type of songs he want them to sound like if he already worked with him
I'm pretty sure he meant that he sent 2 songs over and he probably haven't heard the outcome yet or which one they picked and he assumed that from the hooks he did one song turned into something funny and one song is more introspective

Walk on Water is just another part of the whole Revival concept, it's Em reviving his character and his fans, telling his fans to stop being so obsessed with him and that he's just a human like the rest of us and that he f---s up like the rest of us, he is not perfect, he can't satisfy all of you
Then he puts Stan at the end to tell you guys to not k--- your self like Stan did, you f---ing r-----s
Obviously having Beyonce on the song is good because she's one of the biggest names in music and many people look up to her

Sort of a stretch, but if true, it would make sense on the secrecy of the album. He also obviously struggled to write content given how long he's been recording. Maybe the idea freed up opportunities to write new stories and ditch writers block, by doing what op suggested.....if true,mind blown.
