Honestly pretty excited to see where that Lorde album ends up amongst the albums of the last 3 weeks, I honestly expected mostly favorable reviews but it was actually pretty 50/50 on “meh” and “great”. I don’t think I saw a review below a 5 though

First Listen Review:
Melodrama! Wow! I really really liked this album. I don’t think I have heard any Lorde tracks since Royals and Ribs came out when I was 8, so I was excited to see part of the 11 years of music I missed out on from Lorde. Safe to say, I was very impressed. 45 minutes, 11 tracks, easy and pretty listen. I liked every track and I never really got bored, besides with Supercut which I liked, but it just didn’t hit like the other tracks did. I really dug the production on the project, and how some tracks would be big and explosive and others would be more chill. You can really see Lorde’s influence of artists like Olivia Rodrigo, in fact it made me curious to see if there were AI Olivia covers of Liability and Writer In The Dark. I feel like both of those songs would’ve fit very well on albums like SOUR and GUTS. I will see if I can find any and include them in this review in an edit. Anyways, like I said, this album is great! I’ll have to do some catch up with Lorde now. If Melodrama isn’t considered to be as good as Pure Heroine, then Pure Heroine might end up being a 10 for me. I haven’t heard much about her recent project, 2021’s Solar Power, but I’m still interested to give it a listen.
