Dec 4, 2024 I'm gonna give it a 9.5 and call it my AOTY just to mess with you. Oh it's pop punk. Was expecting worse
Dec 4, 2024 I’m between two albums but one of the albums just hearing this woman’s name would make people go “yeah no I’m not listening to this” It would make @Justin Trudeau happy though Spoiler: My 2 Ideas For My Next Pick It’s between folklore by Taylor and GUTS by Olivia
Dec 4, 2024 I knew you’d love the thought of that 2nd pick, I’m leaning more towards that one. The first pick though is an album that I consider d--- near perfect and it’s so different from everything else in her catalog that I think that everyone should give it a shot
Dec 5, 2024 The Hot Mulligan album hits different in the shower, just listened to it. Honestly this might be the real way to review these albums. Idk why I ever stopped listening to music in the shower. Also has anyone else cried several times to Betty?
Dec 5, 2024 You guys think an indie-rock, country-rockish (adjacent) album would do well? Got a record I’d like to pick but wouldn’t want to bore the 4 people who do review it to death.
Dec 5, 2024 Lemme take it back a few centuries Y’all are paragons of truth amidst the clamor of folly.
Dec 5, 2024 Hot Mulligan- Why Would I watch Had never listened to them before, actually had never heard of them before. "Shouldn't have a leg hole but I do" pulled me in instantly, was sort of poppy sounding in comparison to the rest of the album but it was an attention grabber for sure. The one thing I really love about this album is that it reminds me of the pop punk albums from the 2000s/2010s, you don't have as many bands making great music like this today. My favorite tracks are Shhh golf is on, Betty and no shoes in the coffee shop but I honestly don't dislike any songs off this album. Definitely added a bunch of the songs to my "liked" playlist! Gonna check out more by them, any other albums by them you recommend @jankland ? Score: 7.5/10 @AOTWClub
Dec 5, 2024 Their discography is pretty small so if you like this album I'd say to check out the Warmer Weather EP, their loosie single Drink Milk And Run, and their 2020 album You'll Be Fine, I Won't Reach Out To You is also a solid EP but it's a bit softer. You'll Be Fine and onward is where they really settled into their current sound and where the production gets markedly better so that era onward is where most of my streams com but if you don't mind a bit rougher of a mix then Pilot is also a solid album. Glad you enjoyed!
