Dec 18, 2024 @AOTWClub Daft Punk - Discovery While I definitely appreciate this album and even own a physical copy, I wouldn’t go so far as to call it perfect. It’s not something I find myself returning to regularly. That said, I still consider it groundbreaking in many ways with some truly amazing sound combinations that set it apart from other albums. I also want to add that Kanye did an excellent job elevating “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” and transforming an already great track into something even more iconic. My main issue with the album is the repetitiveness. The melodies and unique sounds are great, but sometimes the same rhythm or sound loops for too long and that’s when I start to lose interest, especially without any vocals to mix things up. It can feel a bit dragged out. That said, Discovery still has some absolute classics. Tracks like "One More Time," "Digital Love," and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". "Something About Us" is probably my personal favorite. It's such a masterpiece. Especially at night while relaxing or driving, it’s the perfect vibe. Favorite songs: One More Time, Aerodynamic, Digital Love, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Something About Us, Face to Face. 8.5/10
Dec 18, 2024 Daft Punk - Discovery Favorite tracks: One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Something About Us, Veridis Quo RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 9/10 This album is obviously a classic and influential album. All my favorite tracks are the ones I’ve heard before, but the other tracks are nice and creative too. Not every track hits for me but when it hits it hits hard. I feel like this some s--- those gray aliens would listen to. This might be something I play when I’m trying to open my third eye. There’s really nothing quite like Daft Punk. I could play Veridis Quo when I’m feeling enlightened or sad. But it’s also something that puts you in a certain type of mood that’s hard to describe. I’m glad these guys gave The Weeknd “Starboy”. @AOTWClub

Dec 21, 2024 Daft punk- Discovery Favorite Song: One More Time Least Favorite Song: The rest of them I'm sorry, I can't do this kind of music, one more time is great and a classic song really, the rest of it though. A complete snoozefest for me. I feel like a d-ck because I get in this genre of music Daft Punk is legendary and very well respected, but I struggled so d--- hard to even want to listen a second time. Obviously harder, better, faster, stronger is known by me as well due to stronger by Kanye and I thought it wasnt bad. I just really struggle to get into this sort of music so my rating is a reflection of that. Gave it another listen today hoping to enjoy it more but I just can't do it. Score: 4.5/10 Giving it a 4.5 as one more time is a classic @AOTWClub
